Boot trouble

AF16's Dad -- EXCELLENT advice! But I'll also suggest that you can just put the boots IN the shower, or even run the water into them in the tub -- hot water as AF16's Dad said above. This is a tried-and-true process that worked for me with both issue boots and Corcorans -- and, as said above, the trick is to wear them a little first for a few days, then get them wet and wear them dry. It may take all day to wear them dry but, in the end, they are broken in.

Excellent advice for all-leather boots.
The new style, half nylon/gor-tex boots don't require water treatment to break in. They are much better designed to fit from the start. All you really need to do is wear in the insoles and round out any rough edges.

So, will Class of 2011 get leather or leather-nylon-Gortex boots? Or is not knowing part of the fun? :)

Um Toledo, I do believe we are the Class of 2012...

Gimme a break, I gave blood today. Class of 2012, all the way.

haha, just don't make that mistake when you come for I-day. ;)

I don't think anyone is quite sure yet what 2012 will be getting in terms of boots. From what I've heard, you guys are getting 2 pairs of regular BDU's, and one pair of ABU's (the digatek tiger stripes). From what I've heard, you can wear leather boots with ABU's, but you usually wear the leather-nylon-gortex boots instead, if available. You'll find out soon enough though.

Correction: No excuse, sir.

What did they make you give blood today too Toledo?

Crazy nut... ;)

I was running a pint over, so I had to drain some off anyway.

The Appointee kit says 2012ers will get the Belleville 650. (F650 for women). They are sage green.
