My son is a 2010 med turnback, going at it again as a 2011 basic. Last year we got Belleville’s at orientation. I heard that their issuing Bates this year and they need two pair. Any issue with using the Belleville’s from last year?

i doubt it, at orientation a few days ago i ended up trying on 3 different brands, including bellevilles, but ended up with bates. only one pair though. others ended up with welco (i think) or bellevilles. the only issue might be if they've changed which serial number boot they want.

So it is acceptable to get the bellevilles, bates or welco? I just wanna be sure. I don't want to show up on I-day with the wrong boots.

as long as the number is right, they were issuing at least bates and belvilles this year that i saw, and i know ppl this year had a mix of bates and belville

It does not matter what kind of boots you have, at all. As long as they're infantry boots made sometime in the last decade (or even earlier) noone is going to say anything.

My roommate came to BCT with some old infantry boots. The cadre never gave him much trouble for having different boots, although they were horrible to shine...and we gave him crap because they looked weird.

I guarantee you that if I show up in my corcoran jump boots(jungle sole though) they will say something.

yes, they will.

Glad we got that out of the way.

i wouldn't stress too much over it. apparently they issue more on the first couple days if you only have one, so at worst you would just have to wear the new pair you get...
