Bored and lazy?

Hello,

I have a problem and as I was feeling particularly sullen and depressed about it tonight I figured I would write about it.

I get bored very easily. IT doesn't matter if it is games, books, school, or work. Unless there is new, varied and interesting stuff there each time I go back, I lose interest. It mostly shows up in school, it first showed up in middle school.

All through elementary school I was tip top in the class. Always getting near perfect or perfect scores on tests and having my homework done before class ended. I had friends and had fun and was all-around like a little kid who had not a care in the world.

Unfortunately, when I hit middle school two things happened. One, everything suddenly seemed boring. Two, I was bullied.

Between the work being boring, being bullied, and no one (including the teachers) listening to anything I had to say, school pretty much sucked. Thankfully, when my grades dropped my parents learned of the bullying and pulled me out of the school.

For the next several years I was homeschooled, the rest of middle school and all of high school. I managed to get my work done quickly, because of my parents motivating me, but I still found the work rather boring.

I had my first year of college at 16 and I genuinely thought that it would be exciting. It was at first, I was all fired up and motivated, not wanting to disappoint my parents. Unfortunately, I got bored half way through the semester and my grades dropped. I managed to get by with some B's and C's. Unfortunately the same thing happened the next semester and I even failed a class.

Shortly after we moved, so I took a break. It's been a year and I'm going to a new college at the age of 18. I am again, genuinely excited, but I can't help, but be fearful that the boredom will come back and I will disappoint my parents.

If anyone has some useful pearls of knowledge I would be greatful.
