Bored, I guess I'll "chance" you if you chance me...

652316541,
I think you’ll get into Berkeley no problem…probably LA too, but I think Cal more…

Chance me for LA and Cal. :P

3.98 anthropology
essay: 7/10
igetc and prereq completed w/4.0 on major prereq
quite a few EC’s (one year transfer because i took fulltime college classes in HS)
4 W’s from first semester in college in junior year of HS (I hate those W’s) They look horrible

Ohh okay. I was wondering how people were using ratings for their essays.
No clue how mine turned out.
Considering your ECs, though, I’d say you have a solid lock down at Davis – though that missing pre-requisite might need some explaining. But those are some crazy extra curriculars! I have no clue about Berkeley chances, though :</p>

The whole UC system is getting overloaded with applicants this year, so we’ll see if it pays off…

ucblove: I think you’re going to get in everywhere. 4.0 mGPa and 3.98 oGPA. Now u just need to start thinking whether you want to go to Cal or UCLA

TWSSaid: I don’t think that 3.64 is a crappy gpa…the average GPA for applicants last year for econ majors for UCLA was a 3.46 so I’m guessing most of your compatition for Cal will have GPA’s between 3.5-3.6 (I’m assuming the difficulty level is the same and that the competition increases). You might be below the av admitted GPA from last year (3.82) but you’re still competitive.
I don’t know too much about what they look for in Econ, but depending on your essays and how they view your EC’s: UCD: 100% UCB: 80%

652316541: sorry, human biology is a major at UCSD. that’s the only school i applied to. the 3 pre-reqs im missing are calc 3, phys 3, and bio 3

turkeey, you’re GPA could be higher, but they consider your job and other factors that you put on your application. I think that would help you quite a bit. I’d say 75-80% (someone correct me if that sounds inaccurate, I don’t know too much about UCSD’s admission’s…especially for human bio)
good luck!

“I’m not brilliant or well-rounded enough for Berkeley or LA, though.”

 • dude… brilliance and well-roundedness are hardly criteria for admission.

btw, i hate all of you for your impeccable GPAs.

CCC: Pierce College
Applied (in order of preference): UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB
Major: Philosophy
Prereqs / IGETC: Completed w/ A’s, and then some / completed by end of Spring.
GPA: 3.47 (first two years riddled with F’s and W’s / heavy upward trend ever since / w/o two C’s from 4 years ago, GPA ~3.7)
Essays: Decent, elaborated on scholastic awakening, etc. Grammatically sound, at least.
ECs: generic + work + law internship + tutoring
TAG: nope :frowning:
Turn Ons: the usual (latex, whips, cuffs, etc)

eh?

Okay. I’ll play too.

University: UCI
Major: Criminology
GPA: 3.15 - Terrible 1st year followed by a major upward trend.
IGETC: Will be certified.
Pre-Requisites: Will be completed.
TAG: None.
Essay: 7/10 (Conservative Rating) - Focused on background and educational awakening.

Do I stand any chance? Be honest.

I honestly don’t know too much about Irvine, but your GPA isn’t too promising…hopefully your essays can make up for it.

Me?

Applied: UCB, UCLA, UCSD (got in)
GPA: 3.9-something, UC transferrable.
IGETC: will be certified by spring.
TAG: Nothing, in honors but only one class (current).
Essay: Eh…let’s say 8/10.
Major: English. No “required” pre-reqs except on IGETC, but I’m taking four lit courses right now.
ECs: Just decent.

you’re in the running, darkknight.

pinker is in the running for some luvving.

BTW, by “decent” ecs…I’m not president of any club, it’s mostly things I do on my own, like volunteering at summer programs, teaching martial arts, etc.

ugh… yeah, man…
my girlfriend just sent me a myspace message saying that she plans to come next month so that i can finally meet her! i’m so stoked. she’s way hot and has over 640 friends on myspace.

over 640!

Pinker. I hope you’re right.

Missyujin. You know you’re in with a 3.9.

wow… i just checked…

she’s got over 643 friends on myspace!

I’m really tired of UCI not posting anything. I liked it better when they said the site would only be updated before 9:00 AM and that no changes would occur for the remainder of the day because now I’m back to checking every few hours. Let’s just get this done.

^
What is up with UCD too?! No word as of yet :frowning:
And it’s the only school I applied to. If I don’t get in, what’ll I do sticking around in community college for another year?

p.s. pinkerfloyd cracks me up.

UC merced hasn’t even accepted me, I am very upset at that school for taking so long on their decisions considering the other UC’S accepted me already

Junkie. I wish I could say but I don’t have the slightest clue what the deal is. All I know is that I’d rather they just set a date and tell us then as opposed to having us refresh our browsers throughout the day.

Pinker: I think B and LA are going to be low/ medium reaches for you but definitely not a match. That strong upward grade trend is going to look good and I think they will also consider coming back from the 2 C’s from two years ago as a sign of maturity. Your writing style (at least on this forum) has looked pretty good and you seem articulate, if your essays are written in the same way or better than those, you’re going to be even more competitive. I’d say 50/50 at B and LA, and in for the rest.

TheDarkKnight: that GPA could be better, why didn’t you sign a TAG for UCI, It’s guaranteed admission and you’d probably qualify. Depending on your essays, EC’s and grade trends, I would agree with pink…you’re in the running, but don’t be too surprised if you don’t get in

missyujin: start looking for apartments/ housing in the LA, Berkeley, or San Diego area (you’re going to get in everywhere unless you do something crazy wrong this term)
