<p>It’s too bad we lost, but it was a great game worthy of the rivalry.</p>
<p>As one of the top 15 rivalries in sports and top 5 rivalries in college football, the game lives up to its reputation.</p>
<p>I am so proud of the effort today by our team. I thought for sure we were going to be blown out. I should know better!</p>

<p>Outstanding game plan by the coaching staff, and outstanding execution by the athletes. And a great and gutsy decision by Brady Hoke to go for 2 and the win.</p>
<p>Looking at the replays, I thought Gallon was in good position to break free for the 2-point conversion streaking toward the right sideline in the endzone. His defender was two steps behind him and to his left, covering the center of the field, when Gallon broke to his right toward the sideline. Gardner didn’t see it and tried to force a throw to Dilio in an extremely tight window. A second or half-second more and Gardner would have spotted Gallon for an easy pitch and catch. We were that close to one of the greatest upsets in the history of this storied rivalry.</p>
<p>But I’m still proud of the boys in maize and blue. They played their hearts out, they played well, and they left everything on the field.</p>
<p>I hope DG comes back for a final year. His draft stock isn’t high right now, but he’s capable of putting up Heisman-type numbers if he returns, as his 452 yards passing and 5 TD (4 passing, 1 rushing) against a very good OSU defense attest.</p>
