With a week until my parent’s deadline, I have narrowed my search to these three schools, but I am mainly choosing between BC and Bentley. I will be majoring in either marketing or economics with the possibility of political science if I so choose. I am looking for a school with easy access to a city (preferably Boston), great academics, good career services/job placement, good sports teams and lots and lots of school spirit. And, as superficial as it may sound, I do want a pretty campus with a good social scene (parties, bars, restaurants, city access, student organizations, etc.). I want down to earth students who work hard and play hard, basically.
As for money, I will be paying a flat rate anywhere I attend and my parents will be paying the rest. BC would be full sticker price at about 70k per year, Providence would also be full price at around 63k and Bentley would be the cheapest option at around 43k.
I have visited PC numerous times and I love it, but it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to go for full sticker price when the other two schools outrank it academically. I visited Bentley last weekend and loved the students, but it does feel like it could feel small by the end of my career there, the sports/spirit seem to be lacking and it seems like a pain to get anywhere off campus, like Moody St. in Waltham or Downtown Boston. I visited BC recently as well and I love the campus, location and spirit, not to mention the name it carries, but it feels big for my freshman year, the student body does seem a tad arrogant on the surface (but I’m sure it’s big enough that I’d find friends) and the price is pretty daunting, but I personally would be paying the same at either school. Basically, Bentley seems pretty comfortable and BC is a little intimidating, but I’m not sure if that’s because I’m impressed by it and Bentley feels normal (???). Feeling very stuck and any help would be appreciated.
