Boston College- Chance me, ill chance back

Hey y'all-

I'm a white male from the southeast applying to BC Early Action. As decisions come out soon, I'm kinda stressed and wanted your thought of my decision. I have a 1970 (690R,630M,650W) and a 700 on SAT II US History. I have a 3.8 out 4.0 and I'm in the IB program at my school ("most rigorous" course load), and my AP scores are as follows: 5- APUSH, 5- human geo, 4- psych, 4- ap euro, 3- lit, 3- world history = ap scholar with distinction. My ECs (these are just the highlights as they are among other things)- water polo and swimming 4 years captain, nationally ranked at 6th in debate, and because I lived for the majority of my childhood in the African continent I've established my own 501(c) nonprofit that sends school supplies back over to the countries where I lived. I'm from a single parent household and I'm a dual us citizen with UK citizenship also. My recs are probably strong.

Thanks
Bret

I’ve already gotten into Tulane with a 20k out of a possible 30k merit scholarship if that helps indicate anything else btw! Thanks!

I think you’re in good shape, especially if you’ve gotten a scholarship. And your heritage will make you stand out. Remember though, just because you don’t get accepted doesn’t mean you’re not good enough. Many admissions officials have admitted to denying people because they’re cranky or sick or just want to get the applications over with.

GOOD LUCK!

You have a very solid application. Very good gpa, and a good Sat score. It’s great that you did exceptionally well on your US History Sat II because it shows that your skill lies where you passion is. I’m not sure how your financial situation is, but if you don’t receive a scholarship from BC, I highly recommend you take the scholarship from Tulane. My cousin’s #1 choice is Tulane and he also applied to NYU, UCLA, American University and UC Berkley. There’s a great atmosphere at Tulane, as well as great academics. You never know how the economy might be in a year or two and you may end up regretting your decision to turn down a great school that is offering you a big scholarship. Good luck!
