Boston College Chances?

Anybody think I can get in? My college counselor says that this is a low reach for me just based on my GPA and standardized testing scores, but he's been working with me a lot, so hopefully I get in!

State of Residence: MA
School: Really good public school
Race: Asian (Filipino)
Hook: none
GPA: 3.78 UW, my school doesn't do weighted
SAT: 2060 (not submitting)
ACT: 32 (Writing 34 (with essay 8, so that composite is 31), Math 33, Reading 33, Science 28) I took it just last Saturday, I think I raised the science component a bit so I'm probably gonna submit both so they'll superscore it.
SAT Subject Tests: 680 World History, 780 Math, 680 Chem
APs: World History (5) and US History (4) my school doesn't offer very many AP courses, I've also taken Honors level English sophomore and junior year and honors psychology junior year.

Essays: Good, my college counselor and I worked extensively on them. My BC supplement has a Catholic emphasis on service, which is what BC really stresses in their mission statement. At their info session, they said that they didn't take interest much into consideration, but I told them that BC is my first choice.

Recommendations: From my English and math teachers. The one from my English teacher is, I'm expecting, amazing as we got along really well and she liked my writing a lot. The one from my math teacher is probably pretty good; she was kind of moody so I'm not sure how she felt about me some of the time, but a lot of the time she liked me and I did well in her class.

A 32 on the ACT is great and enough to get you in to BC. I would say you have a strong chance at BC, especially considering the religious stuff you got going.

My son was accepted to BC last year with similar stats- yes they superscore the ACT, and I really think that their essays were more involved than other schools- if you can write a string essay about service and the Jesuit ideals, I’m sure they will take notice of it. Good luck!

From a local’s perspective…match. GPA is good, courses look hard, supplements have potential. Best of luck!
