Boston College Chances

Hello, I am wondering if I am a competitive candidate to transfer to Boston College. Currently I am a freshman at a Top 75 University currently as an undecided student. I looking at Villanova as well.

I finished my first semester with a 3.94 taking the standard 15 credit course load

Currently taking 16 credits:
Comparative Gov. and Politics
Creative Writing
Intro Sociology
Calc I
Astronomy + Lab

I would be applying to CAS as a Political Science major. My 2 letters of Rec. should be good

I have many ECs from High School and right now am involved with intramural sports

From a private prep school I had a 3.4 UW GPA with an upward trend along with a 1750 SAT score.

How much is my low test score going to hurt me?

Any Info would be greatly appreciated. Would it be more beneficial to apply next year to distance myself from my high school record?

Though your SAT score/high school GPA are a bit low, a 3.94 is pretty impressive. Write some killer essays, and see if you can get a solid political science-related EC under your belt, and you’ll have a decent shot.
