Just called the admissions office to clarify when potential PSP candidates will be notified. My son was accepted EA to the Honors program today. She said if he was a contender for PSP, the information would have been INCLUDED in this packet.

Aleeroz:
I live in Northern NJ. Apparently they were shipped on Wednesday so you could go onto usps.com and calculate approximately how long an envelope would take to get to Chicago. That’s what I did haha

@luvthecape BC’s site has a special notice about PSP notifications:

“Letters of invitation to the candidates selected for Presidential Scholars Program interviews (PSP Weekend) were mailed Friday, Dec. 18th via UPS Ground. Please note, due to the large volume of applicants for Boston College’s Early Action round, we are only able to notify those students who were selected to be interviewed.”

If they bundled the acceptance with the PSP info, why did they send something out TODAY? I think they’re separate.

DEFERRED (and quite honestly surprised)

ACT: n/a
GPA: 3.95 U

Other stats: 5 ap tests so far (will have taken and hopefully passed 10 when I graduate)

Essays: decent
Teacher Recs: maybe overly complimentary
Counselor Rec:generic
Hook (if any):
Location: southern MD
School Type: public
Ethnicity: white
Gender: male
major strengths: grades, ECs, SATS
major weaknesses: applied VERY close to deadline; didn’t have anyone read my essay besides my mom; not the best SAT 2s; should’ve waited til RD so I could submit my 1st semester grades
why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: applied just before deadline (does that matter?)

I’m just wondering, does anyone know how they decide how many years of guaranteed housing you get, is it by how strong they consider your application to be, or is it just like a random/lottery thing.

i still don’t know.

No tabs…so I’m thinking deferred?

ACT: 35
GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.52 W
Lots of ecs, great recs…
