Neenan society as alumni or just parents who love BC? If they just love BC I would expect they would have to contribute well north of 10K, possibly north of 100K per year to have that outweigh a legacy admit of someone who contributes say 1K per year.
Is having a rec letter from a jesuit influential at all? I come from a jesuit high school and had a close relationship with a teacher my junior year who was part of the society. Also, does the jesuit high school make a difference just by virtue of being, well, jesuit?
What would be my chances? I have a 31 ACT (32E, 32M, 30R, 28S) and 2080 SAT (740 M, 650 CR, 690W). My GPA is about an A-/A average. I applied CAS for Comp. Sci. I am so damn scared!
@tomatoes124 you’re stats are fine; as long as you have a strong holistic section of your app then you’ll definitely be competitive.
i woke up and misread the twitter post about admissions letter today… i got excited for few minutes hahah
I just got deferred by Northeastern…Not feeling good about BC now at all.
SAT 1400/1600 2130/2400
4.2 Weighted
3.9 Unweighted
6 AP Classes 1 four on test and the rest 5’s
National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Science Honor Society
Tennis, Swimming, Mock Trial, Study Abroad to Spain, School Leadership Program
Declaring my major as Physics.
Think I will be shot down?
@collegebound2016 I think you’re probably in, but who the hell knows
@collegebound2016 yeah its scary… I also got deferred
I have a 35 ACT but a much lower (3.7) GPA, and on top of that I have an academic probation on my record Ugh, it was such a stupid move for me.
@sungjong Did you explain the academic probation to the school?
@vlindo Yeah! I don’t know if it was very convincing, but I did try to convey that I truly did learn my lesson and grew up from this experience.
Hi!
I’m applying to CAS as a communication major.
My school is top 100 in the country, above 50 consistently every year.
We do not rank, but I have a 94.34 UW GPA and have taken 8 AP classes. These classes include Chemistry, US History, Lang + Comp (Junior year), Econ (micro/macro), AB Calc, AP Psychology, and Environmental Science (senior year). I’ve only ever taken honors classes. The rest of my course load this year includes PIG, Spanish 4, Public Speaking and Humanities.
I’m half White, half Chinese.
I’m a 5 year Varisty Athelete (Field Hockey) and a two year Varsity Track Athlete (11+12).
I have a part time job, belong to Interact Club, Cow Club, the broadcasting club at our school, a fashion club that raises awareness for abused woman and children in the city closest to me, a youth group at my church, and have many hours of community service.
I also am a National Honors Society Member, and AP scholar with distinction, and have two great (I hope) letters of recommendation from teachers.
I have an aunt that went to Boston College and I have visited!
Chances?
Oh and I also have a 33 ACT, one sitting. A 4 on all AP tests last year.
Oh and it’s not Spanish 4, it’s Spanish 5! Woops
@tomatoes124 Did you get deferred at Northeastern? I like BC so much better…But, Northeastern was listed by my HS counselor as Possible and BC was listed as Reach. That does not bode well I think.
Hi friends! I’ve been reading this thread for weeks, but I think my nerves are getting the best of me and I had to join in. I’ll put my stats on here, in case any of you care. I applid EA to CAS for Political Science. I didn’t declare a pre-professional program, but maybe I should have… Best of luck to everyone!!!

They have posted on their social media that everything is being released at once, and that nothing has been sent yet.
@newenglander22 They haven’t released any decisions yet
Does anyone think tomorrow will be the day!?
