**~Boston College Class of 2020 Early Action Thread~**

@HuskyMom alright then. thank you!!

The only reason I didn’t take a language in junior and senior year is because I finished the highest level in sophomore year. Not sure if taking Mandarin 2 in freshman year and slowly making my way up is better than finishing AP early on.

Also, are decisions released by email or is it by some other form of communication?

Apparently, they’re sending results through email for the first time this year instead of through snail mail

@mndt38 oh okay then uwu i guess i’ll be frantically checking my email every two seconds on christmas eve.

This thread is surprisingly empty. I wonder how many people applied EA this year.

Yeah, I didn’t see a thread so I made one myself, but it doesn’t seem like many people are commenting.

I don’t think many people applied EA because first BC said decisions go out 12/25. Then they said 12/15. Then 12/14. Now, we get a decision by 12/14.

Just curious, where did you hear that decisions will be released by the 14th? @crazylegs12

@southeastkid On the BC Admissions twitter they said “Decisions will be sent via e-mail between December 14-18”. I also got an email about 2 weeks ago saying my application was complete and they would be emailing decisions the week of the 14th.

BC’s website seemed to discourage EA apps a bit. I wonder if there are fewer applications as a result?

Good luck everyone! I feel like I’m going to get deferred but it seems like less are applying EA so maybe I have more of a chance. I just want it to be next week…

Applying to LSOE-since not as many people are interested in that school does that help my EA chances? Also does anyone know when we hear back? or is it still week of 14th? It’s my top choice and I’m so nervous!

I’m looking around the internet at some stats and it seems like most people who have higher GPAs than I do have lower ACT scores. I have a 3.7 GPA (our weighted GPA isn’t much different from our UW GPA) and a 35 composite ACT. Does that make me a less desirable candidate than someone who has, let’s say, a 3.9 GPA and a 30 ACT?

@sungjong It depends on what they prefer. Although my S is applying to BC, I really don’t know the school enough to tell. My feeling is that second-tier schools are more stats driven, meaning scores and GPA, versus highly selective schools, which are more “holistic,” as the overwhelming majority of applicants have the stats to begin with. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck!

I’m freaking out and will be living on this page for the next week… :slight_smile:

Don’t worry about your academic profile; if you’re in range you’re fine. What’s going to make or break your admission decision is if they find you interesting, which is shown through your EC’s, essays, and recommendations. Also, your race/circumstances will play a role to a certain extent. Honestly, I think everyone in this forum has a solid shot.
