**~Boston College Class of 2020 Early Action Thread~**

Can you all post stats if you get invited to the scholarship program? Thanks

Dango98: D got an invite to Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program today (outside of DC): SAT: 800 CR, 800 Writing
740 Math; something like 780 on two subject tests, 4.0 unweighted GPA, lots of service, sports, leadership etc. Hopefully that’s what you’re looking for. Good luck - hopefully you will get an invite too!

Was the scholarship invite with the acceptance packet or a separate letter?

I also received an invitation to the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program. Does anyone know how many invitations BC typically sends out? It must be pretty competitive to get 1 of the 15 spots. Fingers crossed!

They send out 60 invites. I got mine in the mail yesterday and was so excited!

Anyone else not get the acceptance package yet? If they were all mailed Friday I would’ve expected it by now.

@jackrabbit14 My S has not gotten anything yet. We’re in FL. He was admitted to the Honors Program as well.

Hey guys I am a junior and im looking at Boston College because it looks like a good college. I want to get in but I dont know if my sat scores are too low. You guys have experience and are getting your acceptances and denials so if you could tell me what my chance are hat would be very helpful!

Sat (superscore): 2010
GPA (unweighted)- 3.9
Weighted GPA- 4.3

Accepted! I am so so happy  3.7ish unweighted gpa, 4.1ish weighted, several extracurriculars, ACT: 32, SAT: 1370, pretty good essays, and pretty good recommendations. BC is where I want to go the most. I just hope I can get some money because I know BC doesn’t offer that much. I was honestly surprised with my acceptance. I think my essays showed how passionate I was with my future goals and that probably played a pretty big role. Congrats to others and good luck to deferred students! Those who were rejected, do not worry. Colleges are weird. I get some really great acclaim from some and none from others. It all just depends on how they interpret the information you present to them. I have not been so happy in my life!!!

do the scholarship offers come via email or snail mail?

Accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences!

GPA: 3.98 UW/4.23 W
ACT: 33
Extracurriculars: 2 sports (including team captain), 2 clubs (president of one of them), 200+ hours of volunteer related to my major, Paid peer tutor
Essays: My admissions counselor hand wrote on my acceptance letter that they were powerful
Recommendations: I assume good, both teachers seem to like me and have had me for 2 years. (but who knows).

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!

To get a tentative aid offer in mid-January, do we have to send a copy of last year’s tax returns, or will the CSS Profile suffice?

I got accepted. I’m from FL. At the time i had a 2090 SAT, 4.9 GPA

mndt38, website says you need to send a copy of last year’s returns by end of 2015

Accepted EA. 33 ACT and 3.85 UW GPA. Really happy about this!

@emleigh Congrats! Did you just get this acceptance now or back in December?

@suzyQ7 in December. Just getting around to posting.

I guess it’s kind of late, but I decided to add on because this site really helped me a lot when I was doing applications, so I’d love to give back to everyone here. Here goes

Accepted EA, Carroll School of Management
GPA: 3.6 UW, 4.1 W
SAT: 2300

Initially, I was pretty surprised they accepted me, even with such a low GPA. However, I think it was balanced out with the fact I had strong essays, and a really strong letter.

Stats for: my D:

Accepted EA, Lynch School of Education
GPA: 3.7 UW, 3.9W
ACT: 32
Rank: n/a, roughly top 25% of class
High school is in top 20 of elite prep schools in the country

Unfortunately no merit aid offered (not surprised given the strength of their students) so not sure if we can swing the tuition. She has been offered very generous merit aid at other schools, so we’ll see

Hey. Do you guys know when orientation registration goes live?
