Boston College Class of 2020 Regular Decision Thread

Do people know if the financial aid packages are updated at midnight, or are they released throughout the day? Not that it matters–just wondering.

Waitlisted CSOM with a 32 ACT, white male from NJ

@HSsenior1997 That would be a good option. But wouldn’t admission as a transfer be harder?

@goldenchina There are obviously fewer students for transfer students, but if you’re able to excel at your state school, or one of your safety schools, then you could essentially transfer to any traditional 4-year university (assuming that you ARE excelling academically).

Is anyone able to check their FA award yet? the link is up but mine is showing up blank

@AnirudhMeminath Same here. I am thinking it is because I am missing my Non Custodial Profile, but I submitted a waiver and they didn’t inform me that they rejected it, so I am kind of confused.

My financial aid is up. I’m very disappointed and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go anymore

I haven’t mailed everything so nothing is up yet

@goldenchina Yes, leave it in God’s hands. It will be OK! It really will. No one is ever going to ask you again what your SAT’s were. Go where you can, continue to do well…and never think your hard work was wasted. You can go somewhere and be at the top of your game, or you can transfer after a year. Either way your only goal from here on out is to enjoy the process of figuring out what you want to be  An education can be had anywhere, and friends can be made everywhere. Most highly successful people I know went to schools you may never have heard of!

I didn’t mail them my parents’ tax returns or W-2 forms so I haven’t received a financial aid offer yet. If I send those things now, will I be able to receive financial aid or will it be too late?

@pdubs97 It is not too late, but we recommend you send it as soon as possible. Give the Financial Aid office a call to see if it is possible to scan or fax it.

I just called them. They “prefer” hard copy mailings ie USPS or Fedex. Once received they said to give them 3 weeks to finalize. On Agora portal under the Financial Aid link it does state “incoming freshmen applicants may submit 2014 tax returns and W-2’s so that a conditional award can be determined.” but it doesn’t look like they will give “conditional” awards. I was told we had to get the 2015 Taxes and W-2s in now, to get any FA.

Does anyone have link to BC 2020 groupme

Guys what is the financial aid access key???

You should find that number on page 2 of your BC acceptance letter.

Is anyone else getting an error for the financial aid when you type in the key?

I’m dead I got a conditional acceptance to CAS if I enroll and complete the Options Through Education summer program!!! I didn’t get an email at all Thursday so… wow I am shocked! One of the 65 students selected omg

Ok, I understand that they don’t meet 100% of need, but this is too low to believe…is there a way to get a reevaluation, or see if I’m missing something? Would I contact my adviser specifically or the office?

@dr0wning can you show me who was accepted to CSOM and said they got into the honors program also…I can’t find any examples…

Now that my emotions have settles:
