Did all waitlisted students get the April email asking for an additional confirmation of interest?
This is kind of a late post but with decision day over and waitlist movement likely coming soon, I’m feeling nervous…
Applied ED, then deferred, then waitlisted. I’ve sent two strong LOCI’s (3 pages, single spaced) after the deferral and waitlist and been in contact with my AO.
MCAS
SAT: 1350 superscore
GPA: 3.7 (competitive IB school)
All IB classes or Pre-IB for 4 years
Good EC’s with clear track in what my major is, internships/founded a program at my school, leadership, etc
Rec letter from “influential” alumni I guess you could say…?
White female from Texas, full pay/didn’t ask for finaid or anything and explicitly stated in 2nd LOCI that enrollment won’t depend on any finaid offer.
BC is my dream school and I literally want nothing more than to get in. Please somebody give me some good news or something positive to focus on!! My mindset is if I’m not at least a little high on the waitlist, they wouldn’t keep me around for basically 3 rounds of admission. It would be a little cruel if I didn’t have some sort of chance… right?! lol go eagles
@user_387298 Speaking as a kid who had better test scores but worse grades and was in essentially the same position, (got off the waitlist a week ago) I think you have a better shot than the average kid due to the amount of interest that you’ve shown. BC isn’t a sure bet for anyone, though, and I think the numbers just hurt some kids more than others. I don’t think anyone outside of their admissions office can tell you what they’re looking for.
Just try and keep everything in perspective, though.
Well this is optimistic:

This may be be more exciting for your parents (who won’t be there) than for you kids.
Hi Anyone know how much we end up need to pay for BC with EFC 7700? My daughter is applying to BC as ED 2 . any advices will be appreciated!
Probably about that with full loans. BC met my son’s full need. Our EFC was around 9500. They met it all but with both stafford loans included and work study of around 2K. We had him take only the $3500 and not the full $5500 so we pay around 13500 but that also includes travel expenses, books and living expenses so we don’t pay that much to the school, More like 11500. He uses his workstudy money for books, etc. He has a grant of 62,0000.
@Charlie2772 thanks for sharing !! That made me feel a little better . My daughter just accepted yo Binghamton few days ago . I was thinking if we should change BC ED2 to regular decision cause I worried about the price . After reading your comment I believe we are ok with that price as Binghamton is not cheap either .
