Accepted

Rejected.

Oh well, time to find another dream school …

So surprised and excited. Accepted Morrissey honors program with 4 years housing. Almost didn’t apply because I didn’t think I had a chance so glad I tried.

Accepted!! UW: 3.87 ACT: 33 BC has been my number one school since I was a freshman so I’m beyond happy

^^ What is the significance of “with 4 years of housing”? Do they give the high stats kids the option of being on campus all 4 years?

@londondad honestly I don’t know. I read people posting it and was curious. I went back and read the acceptance letter and it stated “with 4 years housing…” Maybe they all say that?..

From BC’s website: "All students are guaranteed three years of on campus housing, with half of each incoming class guaranteed four years of campus housing. Students who are awarded four years of campus housing are: students with physical disabilities, NCAA full scholarship athletes, students in the Connell School of Nursing, and the top 15% of the incoming class.

If a student is awarded three years of campus housing, there are a variety of off campus housing options available for students. Students at Boston College who have been awarded three years of campus housing live off campus during their junior year. Over 95% of the senior class lives on campus."

Rejected, 3.9W 3.55 UW, 33 ACT, CSOM. I knew it was a reach because of my low GPA, but I’m still a little disappointed. Best of luck to everyone deferred and congrats to all who were accepted!

^ Thanks. This clarifies everything. When we did the tour with my son (he ended up waitlisted) the tour guide mentioned that only 3 yrs were guaranteed, but that most kids went abroad for a semester junior year so it wasn’t that big of a deal being off campus for one semester.

Got in (: 1990 SAT and 4.2/4 Weighted GPA. Hype team!

30% of the people that get deffered end up getting in

Housing: If you got three years, don’t sweat it. My daughter is a sophomore with 4 years housing and she STILL is opting to live off her junior year to stay with her friends (I think a few of them also have 4 years). A lot of the students really like the year or semester living off…you are still usually really close to campus, and there is a BC bus I think as well as the T. Not a big deal at all. In fact, I had a year off (junior year) when I was there and it was fine.

One of the unique and I think greatest things about BC is that everyone is back on senior year and it is the best year of all. Many schools the students start moving off sophomore/junior year and stay off. At BC, the housing gets better and senior year is the most fun of all.

On another note, don’t worry if you get Newton campus freshman year. My daughter just lived it and in the end Newton was awesome. She really bonded with other freshman and it had a very strong sense of community, she loved the dining hall that was all freshman, and used the law school classrooms to study which ended up being a great thing for her. When I was at BC, I had upper and I think my daughter had a better experience on Newton than I did on Upper because of the bonding. Both places are great and have their advantages.

Good luck to all of you and congrats to those of you that got in.

where do you get that stat? Is that official?

A bit late, but I’ve been caught up in the excitement of it all! ACCEPTED: 33 ACT, 3.97 GPA UW, OOS (MT)
