@mapmama OMG. I got accepted for international studies with pre-law too!! Really cool to see someone interested in the same things I’m into!
accepted to MCAS! 4.5 GPA and 34 ACT
same lol
I don’t. Sorry!!
Rejected! I’m extremely heartbroken since BC was my dream school and one of their music professors personally indicated an interest in me and even advocated on my behalf to the admissions counsel. But congrats to everyone who’s gotten in!! Best of luck to everyone on their college journey
YES, my Daughter in PA was just DEFERRED.
Please know I offer this detail ONLY for you magnificent kids out there who may have also been “Deferred,” or perhaps… denied. As some said earlier in this thread… its a decision made by a human being, and God made us all… imperfect! I’m sure EVERYONE that applies to an Institution of this calibre will be exceedingly successful in life… No Matter Where you might go to College!
Excepting a relatively tepid SAT (1,360), my Daughter (someone who NEVER did well on Standardized Tests) is a long-time high-performing student/athlete on countless levels: GPA: 4.79 (~104+W); Currently #2 (SAL) in her class of ~300+ (despite School Sports, FBLA, Academic Comps, Working, Volunteering, and 10+ hours a week of evening training in Tang Soo Do (2nd Dan/3rd Degree, soon), Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu; Natl. Honor Society (4x) & High Honors (Every Semester/Year); Gifted Education; One of her Schools Top, all-around Female Athletes (including Girl’s All-Time Record Holder for Iron Man Triathlon, 2-Sport Fall Athlete (Soccer & FOOTBALL (1st Female in School History, Winner of the “Miss Fitness” title (based on scores in strength, flexibility, and stamina) for an unprecedented 3-straight years), Track & Field standout/ability to win or finish in top 3 of virtually every Track event), 5th in USA (FBLA), MAA/AMC, ARML/One of Top State Teams (2x), Neuroscience Brain Bee Finalist (2x), 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do (World Class Sparring Champion in Taekwondo Olympic Style Sparring… 2- National Sparring Titles (Karate), 2-National Sparring Titles (Taekwondo), 2-time AAU National Medalist (Bronze & Silver… only 2-losses in past several years was to 4-time USA & recent World Champion; TWICE Invited to USA Team Trials, Two-Time AAU Mid-Atlantic Region “All Academic Award” Winner (2015 & 2016); 2-Time Scholastic Arts & Writing Awardee, a gifted writer (100/100 AP ENG 12 Lit & Comp), Performed extensive Community Service (from AP Calc tutoring to Ski Instruction for Special Ed Students to extensive volunteerism for countless local, regional, and national charities since a very young age to Martial Arts/Women’s Self-Defense instruction; Shadowed 3-diverse medical professionals (Urgent Care Physician, Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon); Composes her own music, sings “like an angel,” and plays xylophone, alto sax, piano, acoustic guitar, ukulele, and a mean PRS (think John Mayer & Santana) electric guitar; Member of Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth since 7th Grade; and honestly, the list goes on!! Her Fatal Flaw (as it relates to “selling it” to a BC Admissions Counselor)… she is exceedingly humble and DOESN’T “SELL IT” to ANYONE! Better Schools who know of her have chased her, and she’ll likely ride free… but it was BC that missed a unique and worthwhile opportunity here! Take note Ms. Tessier and Messrs. Mahoney and Lay… you’ve got at least one weak link in Admissions who likely didn’t take the time to read beyond the SAT score of … or, perhaps, you’ve already admitted someone exactly like her After all, miracle do happen!
They usually defer really good students from what your daughter sounds like because they believe BC is not their first choice and want to fill early slots with students they find likely to enroll with their acceptance, in my opinion she will most likely be admitted along with RD applicants. Best of luck to her!!
@CollegeG2 ^^
Does anyone know where we can view our financial aid package? I tried going on the Agora Portal but couldn’t find it.
accepted, morrissey :’)))))))))))
Hey everyone, NJ applicant here accepted to MCAS for Economics. I’m a Catholic, white, middle-class male with a 95.6 unweighted QPA and a 1500 on the SAT. I’m in NHS, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, and captain of the varsity track and cross-country teams, among other things.
To those who have been accepted, congratulations! Early Action is getting more and more selective every year, so be proud of what you’ve done.
To those who have been deferred, please don’t lose hope. This decision by no way means you will not be accepted in the future. I knew half a dozen people last year who were stellar students and remarkable leaders who were deferred EA but were eventually offered in admission in the RD round. If BC is meant for you and you are meant for BC, don’t worry.
Again, congratulations to everyone who applied and was accepted to the Class of 2022! Go Eagles!
Accepted Morrissey!

@Hersheyprincess I read the letter that accompanied the BC acceptance to mean that financial aid would be viewable on Dec 18
Son was ACCEPTED to MCAS. From NH. GPA W/UW 4.0 (weighting doesn’t affect grades more than a fraction of a percentage at his school).1510 SAT (did not submit), 35 ACT one sitting, 800 on both Physics and Math II Subject SATs. Top 5% of class (school does not rank so that’s all we know). National Merit Semifinalist. National Hispanic Scholar. Three season athlete for all four years, captain of crew team Sr. year. Captain of mock trial Sr. year. Multiple leadership roles and long-term ECs. Over 300 hours of volunteering. REALLY strong LOR from both teachers and his college counselor. Hooks: URM
And his letter of acceptance said Financial Aid would be available in January.
Accepted! 34 ACT and 97 GPA, National Hispanic Scholar. Got accepted to notre dame last night as well, which I was not expecting at all. Riding the acceptance high right now. Congrats to everyone and good luck to those deffered!
@ deferred students only 106 more days
Do those of you who applied ED elsewhere realize that you were not supposed to apply EA to BC? It’s against their EA policy: https://www.bc.edu/admission/undergrad/process/freshman/deadlines.html Please respect your fellow students and follow the rules. It already is a very unlevel playing field.
Deferred
ACCEPTEDDDDD
