I would say Fordham as a good option. Never say never but I would expect him to be deferred at the very best.
I don’t think Fordham has ED2 - I also think it would have a been a good fit for that profile.
Yeah. I wasn’t sure. But that was directionally the type of school I would review. Even RD. Super school. Great business school too. Just a little more in line with the profile while still being selective
Thanks for the feedback. Dad was thinking Stern/NYU and Carroll/BC but both seem like long shots especially with no demonstrated interest. Applied to IU and SMU also. Fordham is a good thought too. A good friend is a BC alum who does private equity but one has to get much better grades than 3.5.
Stern is, to be blunt, a huge reach with those stats and and an 8% admit rate, even if you apply ED. IU Kelley is a good option. I agree with privatebanker that Fordham is worth an RD application too. I’m personally not familiar with SMU.
IU was another I was going to mention. But I tried to stay in the Jesuit type lane and northeast. IU has a great market lab and huge and well connected IB club. They also have alums throughout the industry. And strong in other business concentrations.
SMU is really solid too.
3.5 is very good if coupled with appropriate rigor. And. 30 ACT is excellent. 22 is average.
Edit. Santa Clara. Is gorgeous. And up and coming. If you are out there although a bit conservative. Pepperdine has a fine business program and surfing in the back yard. Literally. UMiami too. Beautiful spot and excellent school.
If you’re #1 in your class with sat superscore of 1440 would you submit those scores or leave it up to admissions imagination as to what you might have gotten?
Hey guys, BC is easily my son’s top school, but he doesn’t know if applying ED 2 would benefit him or not. His cumulative GPA is 90.5 (I think 3.75/4), but in his senior year his GPA is around 96 so far in harder classes. His SAT is 1420 if this helps. Do you guys think ED2 would still benefit him or would applying RD help him due to his senior year grades? Any advice is much appreciated.
@Billsdad337 ED2 takes senior grades into account. The deadline is the same as RD. I’m pretty sure the mid-year report, with senior year grades, will be required. Ask admissions to confirm. (And if you hear differently, please post! This would be important to know.)
I’d look at your overall application with rigor, and ec’s being weighed more heavily if test optional. If the 1400+ isn’t representative, you may opt test optional. I actually had similar question with a 1510 considering the other areas are strong and looked like the majority of ed1 accepted were test optional but idk if anyone has a definitive answer. GL
Thanks! took 5 APs junior year and 5 APs senior year - all As
Good extracurricular activities but not amazing.
I’d say the 1400+ would not go against you. Sounds like the ave is 1550-1470 so your very near it.
I don’t know if you remember my post but I was deferred with a 3.91 and a 34. Im sending a quick update the the AO next week and will send a more detailed LOCI after I get my final grades.
Thank you and I’m in the northeast
has anyone gotten their EA decision?
A 1510 SAT will not hurt you in admissions at BC, assuming the rest of your application is strong.
I got denied ED1 from BC with a 93 cumulative GPA. ED2 will definitely give him an advantage especially if his senior year grades are very strong.
I was accepted ED1 to CSOM with a 1500 this year. Definitely submit your 1510, it will help you stand out from those who do test optional. Especially because your score is above the 75% percentile!
What was your gpa? I got deferred with. 34/1500
