i had a question about the admission rates of different schools within Boston College.
i was wondering if the college of arts and Sciences (CAS) was easier or harder to get into than the other schools there.
if it is do you know of the realistic (not CC) stats one should have that give them a shot of getting in.
these include
GPA
SAT/ACT
admissionn rate
etc. etc.

In terms of what kind of stats/profile one needs to get accepted to BC or any of it’s individual schools, the answer is “it depends”. If you spend some time looking through the decision threads on this forum, you’ll see many applicants with high academic profiles getting rejected or waitlisted while others with lower profiles get accepted.

Does your school have Naivance? If so, that’s a good starting point for how applicants from your HS do.

As for one BC school being more difficult to get accepted to over other BC schools, opinions vary widely on this. Some of the more convincing data presented in past BC discussion threads point to acceptance rates being with 1-2% of each other.

Personally, I have not seen any data re: admits by school. The general consensus on cc – all anecdotes? – is that the numbers for A&S and CSOM are similar; but again, never seen any published sources. The stats for the Ed and Nursing schools, however, are probably not as important as ECs (which demonstrate interest in the field), but that is just a guess.

Finally, gender plays a role in admissions to biz programs, at least at every college that publishes its data. I have to believe that gender also plays a role in admissions to BC’s CSOM (but absent any hard data, that is just a guess).
