I applied to the Management School at BC, was waitlisted, and then admitted, but only to the College of Arts and Sciences. So, the BC college of arts and sciences or Holy Cross?

I'm not really familliar with Holy Cross, but do they have a business school?

Boston College. Look, both are Jesuit, both has similar cultural allegiance; but BC is a sport power house among the New England schools, its prestige and brand recognition is much higher than Holy Cross, BC has a larger student body and more diverse than HC. Academically, I don't think there is a giant gap between the two, but if business is your thing, HC can't compete at all. If you prefer engineering, then the 3-2 program with Columbia SEAS might be good. Other than that, BC is your school; perhaps money is factor too, I don't know.

I see but I applied to the Management School and was not admitted because it was full. I only got into the BC Arts and Sciences off the wait list. The things is, there is no guarantee that I will be able to transfer from the BC A&S to the BC Business. If that is the case, it will be a miserable four years and I will come out with a degree i don't want. I know i want to study finance as well, so my other option would be to major in finance from Holy Cross and do either the pre-business or pre-law program.

HC doesn't have a finance major, unless you mean the Econ-Acct track. And accounting is not finance by a long shot. Acct keeps track of money and save it, finance finds way to spend it and makes more of it, they're opposite philosophy. Internal transfer from A&S to CSOM (BC's business school) is a easy provided you have the semester grade. I have friends transfered in and out of CSOM after the first semester of their freshman year. During your freshman year, you can take CSOM class as well; A&S students are restricted from taking more than 7 classes in CSOM, but you could still take them while you are applying for internal transfer. If financial aid works out, take BC's offer and you won't be kicking yourself in the behind years from now. Transfer into CSOM is not applying to Harvard, don't worry about it, it's quite flexible.

Thanks Reddune. I'm going to take your advice and accept the offer from Boston College.

Hey Rob :)
Dude, you better be going next year
Gimme a call tomorrow

i also got into holy cross. honestly, it shouldnyt be a querstion for u. holy cross doesnt compare to bc. it doesnt matter wat school u got into within the college. dont pass up bc
