Boston College or Lehigh???

Which business school is better for someone looking to work in new york after graduation?

Do what in New York? Ride a delivery bike, clean toilets, finance??

probably either clean toilets or finance. i'm not really into riding bikes.

"probably either clean toilets or finance. i'm not really into riding bikes."

LOL

so does anyone have an answer?

id say neither is your best option, as BC grads probably aim to be in Boston, while Lehigh grads aim to be in Philly. With stats to get into those schools, you could aim for a more NYC-oriented school.

What about NYU Stern?

Stern is not good.
If I were you, I'd rather go to Harvard or Wharton.

that is like saying nasa isnt good, especially if you want to go to the moon

NYU Stern is great. 10 times better than BC and Villanova if your goal is NYC Finance.

Screw Stern go to Wharton.

Back to your original post. I don't know if you have visited Boston College or and Lehigh or what not, but they are two very different worlds. Overall ranking wise they are rather even, but Boston College's B-school ranks in the top 20 for finance. Also, the school is in BOSTON, a city where you can easily find internships and from what they told me at the tour, a very large percentage work in NYC and Boston and also a fairly decent amount work in D.C. From my own personal opinion Boston College is known to the American public more so than Lehigh. (Probably because of football and oh yeah probably because they have a really great alumni system) Their alumni connection is one of the best in the nation, almost up-there with the USC trojan network. Now, I hope that gave some idea, but if these two schools are your final choice I would DEFINITELY hands down choose Boston College because if you were to visit both campuses the enviornment is completely different.

Now, if the case was NYU Stern vs. BC Carroll, NYU kicks major butt and totally outdoes the competition.

i know plenty of bc grads that work in nyc.
i would even pick bc over stern.

I visited Lehigh and loved it. I visited BC and was surrounded by snotty rich a-holes. I would never consider applying to BC simply because my experiences with the snooty student body, even if I was guarranteed a nice job after college by going there. So I'd say analyze yourself and see which school's environment matches your personality better. Remember it won't matter what job prospects after graduation a school has if your GPA is a 2.8 because you've been spending all your time contemplating suicide. But if you like both, i'd recommend BC.

Boston is great for pensions and mutual funds, but typical NYC jobs are more abundant in philly. As of now, the city of philly and state of PA are trying to convince the large NYC banks to move some of their major operations to that city as a safeguard for future disasters. And many have already started the process.
