Boston College Presidential Scholarship

I was wondering if anyone heard back yet about the Presidential Scholarship Program. According to the program’s homepage:

“Letters of invitation to the candidates selected for Presidential Scholars Program interviews (PSP Weekend) were mailed Friday, December 17, 2010 via UPS Ground. Please note, due to the large volume of applicants for Boston College’s Early Action round, we are only able to notify those students who are selected to be interviewed.”

However, I have not received anything yet (Michigan). Has anyone?

I have not received anything either, but I did receive a handwritten note on the bottom of my acceptance letter that said I should hear some more good news in a few days…

Dang I haven’t heard anything in Seattle. I was really hoping I would possibly get a chance.

Below is the UPS Ground delivery calculator link -you can plug in Chestnut Hills-BC’s zip code -02467, your home zip code along with the other required info (select Dec. 17th as date sent) and it will show you the delivery day/time range to your location. Hope this helps.

Yea, it should’ve been here today already, at the latest tomorrow. I mean the decisions were sent Wed, and i got them Fri. So, I probably wasn’t considered.

I just got mine tonight, and I’m on the east coast. So if you are far from Boston, you might not want to give up hope just yet.

were you all invited to the honors program?

I was invited to the Honors Program, but haven’t heard back yet about presidential scholarship (PSP). I’ll keep my hopes up for another day in Michigan. Sounds like the West Coast has plenty of time still though.

Did anybody else get a handwritten note?

@Nuclear Penguins keep your hope up for another day. Those were USPS not UPS. Plus they were a much larger shipment and more likely presorted.

I had a handwritten note on the bottom of my acceptance letter, but it didn’t say anything about PSP or anything coming later, which is kind of a bummer, but oh well.

Reading the UPS Ground carefully their delivery is within 1-5 days; the transit maps are estimates but not guarantees; particularly when it is going to a residential address. With the holidays it would make sense things could be behind from what the transit maps state. Below is info from the UPS site:
UPS Ground 1-5 Business Days
Delivery based on distance to destination

And info from another site:
UPS lists their ground shipping time frame as “day-definite delivery typically within one to five days.” However, when testing their delivery map, a ground delivery from Philadelphia could take as long as six days to parts of Oregon and Idaho. UPS lists their service area for ground shipping as the 50 states plus Puerto Rico

Although it is very likely not everyone getting an envelope will be on college confidential it does seem like there would have been more activity on this thread yesterday if things were received as the transit maps state. Hang in there with the waiting!

Thanks for the encouragement! Nothing yet today, but I guess I’ll keep waiting!

I am still hopeful in Michigan, at least for one more day…but are there hard and fast requirements for this. I saw 34 on the ACT somewhere but was wondering if this was a firm cut off…btw I was invited to the Honors Program at CSOM

I received finalist notification today in Tennessee. The UPS app was spot on–it said 3 business days, and that’s exactly what it took. FYI, I did have above 34 on the ACT, but I don’t know whether that’s a hard requirement.

Stanley what’s your GPA? I had a 34 as well.

My school’s weighting system is pretty weird, but I can say I have all A’s with basically all honors and APs.

Oooh, that’s better than what I have haha. 3.91, which is like a B, 2 B+'s, and 3 A-'s.

I had a 33 ACT and 3.98 out of 4.0 in michigan…guess its not going to happen…oh well

Just got the letter in CA, if that helps anybody.

Ahh still nothing in Seattle, I give up.

yeah, I got mine yesterday in Minnesota.
