Boston College RD 2022 Thread

Since Early Action is over and those that applied to Early Action got their decision, I thought that there should be a Regular Decision thread. Congratulations to everyone that got accepted into Early Action! For everyone that got deferred like me, we are all obviously waiting for our decision. The wait for Early Action is painful so I can’t imagine how much worse it would be for Regular Decision!

If it is anything like previous years, decisions will probably get released around mid March or late March. Sometimes before April 1st. Good luck to all!

Have all the EA decisions gone out or are there waves?

I believe all Early Actions decisions have gone out already! According to the BC admissions twitter, if you didn’t get your decision yet, call them tomorrow between their hours. Make sure to check your spam box

CHANCE ME!

Boston College is one of my top choices but I decided to wait for RD because I felt the application pool would not be as competitive. I am applying to the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences and my application looks as follows:
3.6 GPA
5 AP classes
4 honors math courses
NHS
Microfinance Club President
2 sport varsity athlete and captain
The worst part is my SAT which is awful at an 1180 (this will probably keep me out)
Equity Firm Internship in NYC
Do I have any chance?

Honestly I see no realistic shot here with that SAT. IMHO only.

@npisano36 I know a girl from last year that got into BC with a 1160. However, her GPA was pretty high, it was a 4.12. As I have heard, BC really does take a holistic approach when it comes to application. However, your common app essay, your extracurricular, recommendation and everything else has to be pretty darn amazing and close to perfect. Your whole application would have to compensate for your low GPA and SAT. I don’t think it is an impossible school for you but it is definitely a reach school for you.

I’m applying RD to BC Arts & Sciences and it’s my top choice.

good luck to everyone who applied!

Does anyone know how to submit a school essay for them to consider?

I would call or email the admissions office and ask them

My supplemental essay was such trash! I really hope that it doesn’t play too big of a role in their decision :frowning:

@nerdalert18 Well, if you are denied you will know why.

ouch @TomSrOfBoston

I’ll have you know I think my common app essay is pretty bomb and so are my stats. So I think I still have a chance… @TomSrOfBoston

@nerdalert18 Then why did you say it was “trash”?

I was talking about the supplement essay, not my actual essay lol @TomSrOfBoston
