Boston College vs UCSB vs USD honors program

I’m trying to decide on one of these schools for next fall as a bio/ premed major…These are my pros/cons for each so far, but I would really appreciate if you could add to the list or let me know where you think I should go and why!
Thanks!!!

Boston College
Pros- great academics, Jesuit/ liberal arts education, beautiful campus, Boston, sports teams
Cons- far from home (I live in SoCal), coooold winters, very little diversity, relatively long subway ride to the city

UCSB
Pros- my older sister is there, good school, great location, closer to home (3 hours)
Cons- big school, UC system, hard to get classes, huge party scene on IV

USD honors- I haven’t done too much research on this one
Pros- perks of being in the honors program, beautiful campus, good weather
Cons- it’s a great school, but not as good as the other two (rank-wise), I’ve heard it can be very religious/strict

It’s a personal decision. Some people would jump at the idea of being able to live on the East Coast and experience something new, others don’t want to walk around in cold white stuff. This is just one example, lots of other differences, too. What you can afford, what class size you prefer, do you want personal advising or just go see someone as/if needed, do you want to live in a college town or a city/suburb, live in an apt. or student housing, play intramural sports, etc.

I suggest you make a list of differences like this and jot down what each school is like. You already have a start above but I think you can come up with a lot more factors that matter to you. Have your sister in college take a look, there may be things evident to a college student that haven’t occured to you. Then scan over the list and I bet you’ll have a preference.

Not sure how anyone sees a large potential for partying in lovely Santa Barbara as a ‘con’!

warm weather is a big plus. Boston just experienced a terrible winter.
