Hi guys,

I am new to this Boston College board, and I just want to congratulate those who were accepted to BC as well. I am thinking of attending BC in the fall, but my decision will ultimately be made based on the amount of scholarship and/or financial aid that they’re willing to offer me. Does anyone know if BC is generous in terms of offering financial aid? Thanks.

bc gave me less money than duke and hopkins.. if that gives you any idea

BC is not a generous school when it comes to financial aid and realistically, it does not need to be. When you look at the number of applicants the school received this year, you must realize how very popular it is. The school provides a very good education and it is located near an incredible city. Their sports teams are very good and the school has a very supportive alum base. The students love the time they spend there and school spirit is very high. Each accepted student must decide if the school is the right place for them at the price BC charges. I have had two children accepted to BC. For one, it was not worth the cost. He was accepted to a better school/program and received better financial aid. No contest...He is now attending the other school. For the other child, she accepted BC. It is the perfect place for her and the cost is worth it. Every person and every circumstance is different. Try to figure out what YOU want and then decide if the cost is worth it for you. Good luck with your decision.

Thank you so much, med1488 and Dogwood.
