How hard is it to transfer to Boston College? if anyone has stats from people who applied and have their decisions, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Heard average GPA was around 3.6.

yeah that's what it said on the website...but i wasnt sure if that was like a minimum or average. anyone else have any information a/b BC?

No way they would put 3.6 as minimum. It has to be the average GPA of successful transfer applicants.

bump...........

it's definitely the average, I've checked their website they have stats for the past 2 years. I think one year it was 3.6 and the one before it was 3.55. Average SAT is like 1250-1280, and it has the colleges the highest number of applications came from.

is it hard to get in as a transfer...or perhaps a better question would be, what is it comprable to as far as admissions for transfers?

Has any transfer students for fall 06 here back yet?

I believe the decisions went out today so people will probably start hearing tomorrow

I pray deicisons went out today

I applied to BC (Caroll) earlier this year for spring semester and was rejected...

Current School: University of San Diego
College GPA: 3.7
H.S. GPA: 3.8 (top 10% of class)
Tests: 28 ACT, 1390/1600 SAT I, SAT IIs: 690 writing
Essay: My strongest point I believe, I wrote about myself and some very personal experiences with my family.
Recs: Both were stellar, one from a former professor at Chicago
EC's: I volunteer at an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Economics Club, I interened with Citigroup in New York as a sophomore and with Smith Barney in San Diego every summer since I graduated high school.

oh thank you, when is the letter postmarked if you don't mind me asking

He applied spring so probably a long time ago. But, that being said, I wonder how long it will take for the letters to reach the west coast. Damn the distance...

I think first class mail to west coast will probably take 3-4 days.

BTW, gosenheim, I'm a freshman at Boston College, I actually had my last final today. I'm in Carroll and let me tell you that you were overqualified for this school. Most of the kids I know here (Carroll) do not seem that, how should I say it... intellectual. Arts & Sciences kids are a little stronger than Carroll academically, so I'm surprised you didn't get in...strange.

I think it had something to do with the fact that I applied for the Spring, they probably had very little room. oh well, I will either be at NYU or Chicago (if accepted) next year.

did you all apply after one year or two.
i want to apply next year after my first year. Also, do they consider the SAT,if so, do they consider SAT taken outside of HS?

gonsenheim - you are completely overqualified for Carrol. I'm sure you realize this and arent too upset. Just know that you will DEFINITELY get into a better B-School. Carrol isnt even that amazing for undergrad business. best of luck man

ajp- thanks man I appreciate that.
