Dawg, are you still waiting for your decision? Hang in there, it should get there soon.

Hey ace586, I just saw your name in another thead. Are you also planning to go to BC CSOM or BU SOM?

That'd be cool! At least there is someone else in this forum that is potentially going!

npl915,

wow! vanderbilt, I didn't even consider applying as a transfer there. I thought its wicked hard to get accepted as a transfer!

Best of Luck at Vandie! (that's how people in my city calls it!)

Dawg, I applied using a paper application and never received any information regarding Agora, hence I haven't been able to access the web site to verify any changes to my account.

I applied from SUNY Stony Brook with a 3.97 GPA, 76 credits (including 18 research credits), decent EC's, great recommendations, etc.

Good luck!! :)

@Geekie: I'm still trying to make my final decision. Just got my acceptance to BU online today. I had been pretty set on BU SMG, but I'm leaning strongly BC CSOM now for a variety of reasons.

I'm thinking of starting up a thread in the BC forum for transfer students, that way we can get a feel for who's going next year, and maybe get any questions we might have answered by current BC students.

Ace, do you think you could post/send your transfer essay?

JTlover, my essay was mainly about why my current school isn't a good fit for me and a reflection on how my decision making process last year was flawed because I didn't really know what I was looking for in a college. Reading through it again, I don't think it would be best for me to post it publicly.

Honestly, I think what helped me the most were the additional attachments that I provided. I was a writer at an up-start online newspaper at my school, so I wrote a blurb in the additional information section about why it was important to me and included a link to my articles. I did the same for my band, since music and music production are a big part of my life.

Hope that helps?

Tayna922- my intended major is chemistry.

for those of you who got on the waitlist, are you going to send the card back and put yourself on the waitlist? I think I'm going to. I would love to go there, but I am having a hard time deciding if I want to go away to school, after a bad experience my first year I am beginning to think I'm just not cut out for going away. Who knows.

I'm not exactly sure yet, I think I'm going to wait for a couple of days before returning the card, see how everything else goes... :)

i got waitlisted! i'm so excited! it's not the best option and i don't have very good luck on wailists but i'll take any glimmer of hope :)....now to get off it....haha

Well, I went ahead and created a thread for transfer students on the BC forum if anyone's interested: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=346410

Best of luck to those of you on the waitlist. When I talked to the admissions office a few weeks ago about the whole transfer process, they told me that waitlisted applicants would know by June 15th of their final decision.

hey ace586,
Hey before today, I was sure to become an BC Eagle but now, I"m not sure if i'll be going to BC, I just got an acceptance letter to NYU Stern. Total shock!!

It's gonna be a hard decision to make....I'm bostonian, but kinda intimidated and nervous to become a new yorker!! LOL

Personally, I love Boston, but that's just me and I'm not an NYC kind of guy. Too big for me. Boston and DC are my two favorite cities. But you've got to make that call for yourself. They're very different places, and remember that the difference between NYU and BC is even greater because it's actually the difference between Chestnut Hill and NYC, not Boston and NYC. That's a matter of personal preference, because both schools are great.

Anyway, I picked BC. My enrollment deposit is in, and I'm pumped for next year. Good luck making that decision!

that's great that you know where you will be at next year ace! fingers crossed i'll be joining you.

I'm taking my name off the wait list, moving to the DC area instead! Good luck everyone, enjoy Chestnut Hill! :)

@ace586- Congrats! on your decision! BC is an amazing school!!

Unfortunatley, I decided to deny bc's csom offer :(, I'll be attending nyu next semester. I've already sent in my withdrawal to BC and hopefully one of our CC's buddies will get in!

Good luck guys!! (in waiting LOL) :)

Congrats, Geekie! NYU is a great school. Besides, it's all about finding the place that fits the best for you. Good luck next year!

To everyone on the waitlist, good luck, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Does anyone have an approximate idea of how many students are on the waitlist?

I had contacted an Admissions Counselor last week and they said "hundreds," although I do not think that figure is really accurate. I would call the Admissions Office and ask to speak directly to a Transfer Counselor rather than a regular Admissions Counselor to get a better estimate.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe approximately 70 students were waitlisted last year.

i try to call the transfer admissions phone number but they never pick up....i need to know how to go about sending in my grades...i don't get final grades until june 13th so i figure that they would want a mid term report of some sort....
