Boston to New Haven

I am trying to make travel arrangements for DD to attend both the H and Y prefrosh/bulldog days during the week of April 16th. The cheapest place to land is Boston. Can a CCer tell me how easy it is to get from BOS Airport to New Haven by rail or bus and approximate cost for each option?

New Haven is only about 2.5 hrs from Boston and Logan Airport. There is an Amtrack that runs from the Boston Area right into New Haven.

Depending on when you book and the dates, fares usually range from $40 to $100 (yeah, quite expensive actually).

Have you thought about renting a car? The drive is very simple =)

Hope this helps, but not sure if it will.

New Haven is like an hour drive.

How fast are you driving? 150 MPH?! I think not ... more like AT LEAST an hour 45

Thank you for your responses. DD is going to be going by herself. How difficult is it to get from Boston Logan to the Amtrak station? Also, does anyone know if there are buses between Boston and New Haven?

There is a shuttle from Logan to South Station. It only takes a few minutes.

And once at South Station, she can take the Amtrak to New Haven... it is a short taxi from New Haven train to campus...too far to walk....

Take the shuttle, its faster.

Rodrigo Coutino M.

What shuttle?

There is a shuttle for Yale students and bulldog days visitors from the NH train station to the campus.
