D23 was waitlisted. Theyre making the college decision easier for her/us (as in in-state SUNY) I guess.

D23 Waitlisted for audition-based Performance Core Theatre program. “Short, unranked list” (Is that what it says for all the waitlists or just theatre?)

Not sure she’s going to take it bc it says limited funds if she comes off waitlist, and we definitely need funds. LoL

Demonstrated interest via School of Theatre tour. Attended zoom webinar. Applied for Trustee scholarship.

Don’t feel bad for her though. She got into Northwestern theatre yesterday, so today’s news wasn’t too bad. Bad for mama cuz BU is a whole lot closer to home. LoL

My son just woke up and he is accepted! College of Communications Journalism. 3.86 UW, 4.58 W, no SAT submitted, 8 APs total (4 in senior year). Strong ECs and essays.

Son admitted to CGS, then Data Science after 2 years.

Homeschooled, 3.95 UW, 1480 SAT
2 APs (4 & 5), senior year all DE
Interesting but not impressive ECs (25 hr/week PT work; self taught instrument & music composition; DM writing original adventures for D&D group; lots of church stuff)

I think it is a good fit, but cost is higher than other top choice. We had conversations with the FinAid office prior to today, and they said our circumstances would warrant a review for possibly increased aid. We’ll go through that process.

Kid got rejected. She is sad as Thai is the only US school she would have gone to. I guess this makes her decision to study abroad easier. She did get guaranteed transfer so I guess if she doesn’t like to study abroad she can try BU next year!

She has 3.97 UW, no test, many Ecs, leadership, Hispanic award, great essays (this is the only rejection from similar schools).

Congrats everyone that got in!! Such a great school

Yes, you can put them on your waitlist.

This is actually interesting. Could a student accept and attend another university in 2023 and still pay the fee to do a transfer to Boston in 2024 (essentially giving them two options to attend the following year)? I never even knew this was a thing! We got Spring admit for USC. I think these colleges are simply running out of room to house all these students and are having to come up with creative ways to accommodate them. I love the idea of putting them on OUR waitlist - LOL!
