Boston U or Vassar?

Hey, right now its looking like I need to decide between Vassar or BU. I like the city but Vassar is obviously better. I love both. This is all assuming I don't get into Brown or Dartmouth (which I won't! :P)

It depends what kind of education you’re looking for. Vassar will give you a small class, close contact learning environment while BU simply can’t offer that. Although BU’s location is preferable for some, Vassar is under 2 hours from New York City and internships are help by students frequently in the city. I’m definitely biased, seeing as I will attend Vassar, but Vassar is also ranked much higher than BU (Vassar ranked 11th for liberal arts college in country, BU ranked 56th for universities in country). I think visiting both will be most beneficially to you! Good luck!

BU and Vassar are very, very different schools. Spend some time thinking about what size school you want to be in, what kind of college environment you are looking for, and what your priorities are in terms of location vs. academics. I agree that visiting both places could help you with the decision. Good luck with the other schools!

Yeah, they are very different. I guesss when I figure out financial aid, it will clarify a lot. Ugh, playing for Vassar money.

Dude. Vassar. Seriously.

I like Vassar better, but if they don’t beat my BU package idk if I can go. /:

I’m sorta confused.

BU is so highly-regarded on this forum and I’m not sure why. BU is a good school yes, but there are many that are better. I was accepted at BU, rejected at Vassar, waitlisted at Wash U St. Louis.

If you have the chance to go to Vassar, go!! Vassar is a much better school.

Are you kidding? If they don’t beat your BU Package? BU doesn’t even promise to meet 100% of need, whereas Vassar does AND if you make under 60k annually you won’t receive any loans in your package. If they don’t beat your package from BU I’ll be shocked (although I don’t know your situation and if you got merit-based aid from BU)

Yeah, my parents make like 120k a year. I NEED THEM TO GIVE ME MONEY. </3
