BOSTON UNIV OR Spring admit for Berkeley

i have been accepted to BU School of Management with 28,000 grant per year
total cost of BU is around 44,000, so ill be paying 16,000 per year

i have also been accepted as “Spring Admit” to UC Berkeley as pre-business major (i intend on appling to Haas school of business in 2nd year, i heard the admit rate was 58%)
berkeley is also offering me a grant worth 2,500 per semester, so 21,500 per year (for spring 2007 semester ill being paying half of that)

Boston Univ isnt ranked very high as Berkeley but they did offer me good money, and i am already in the managment program whereas in Berkeley i need to apply in my second year. ALso, BU admitted me for fall 2006 NOT spring 2007.

should i attend BU or Berkeley?

Note: I live in CA

I'd go to BU...if you want to live east coast...and berkley if you want to live West coast...BU's business program i've heard is quite intence...im also going to it...but yeah...BU is amazing...Boston is amazin...im not goin to pass it up...yeah they gave me 36k in grants..im poor..lol ...but yeah...BU if you want east coast..no question

hey KG974 is BU very crowded and would you say its more competitive than berkeley? also how is the campus, i heard there is no real campus, its scattered like MIT

BU without a doubt. Why would you want to start a semester late in spring 2007 when you could start during athe fall like everyone else? And BU offered more money so go with that. You don't want to have huge debts.

yeah...and BU will DEF get you prepared for the working world..look at my previous thread.... SMG = "bootcamp"...and youll see that youll do amazin things here..
umm i havent visited BU yet..so its all somewhat speculative...but Boston is the greatest college town in the world..cant go wrong..and SMG will def take you places...Berkley of course is an amzing school...so like i said b4...west coast? or east?..cant go wrong w/ either pick

I've been on the BU campus like four or five times already and I absolutely love it. Just about everything is located on Comm Ave and it's right in the city. It's a plus for me cause I'm a city girl. I love the atmostphere around BU and Boston is one of the best cities. Fenway Park is right down the street and basically you have everything right on campus.

You're posting on the BU board, hence the biased responses. You should definitely go to Berkeley--better program and, from what you say anyway, you'll probably get into after a semester.

They are both good schools and each has their advantages, there is no "betgter" just what ever is a better fit for you. Have you visited both? Berkeley is much more diverse as far as being about half Asian-American and in the Bay Area so thats a plus. I think the neighborhoods around BU are better. Would you get in state tuition at Berkely? Thats a plus especially if you think you'll go on to grad school? By Spring a lot of friendship groups will have formed but I'm sure that can be overcome. Do you ski or snowboard or plan to learn? (good ways to combat the Boston winter)
