Boston University 7-year Med Program

I am a junior. 4.0 and 3.8 (raw) gpas. 35 on ACT. Going to take subject tests Chem, Math II, and Spanish. Have multiple internship hours working in a hospital setting. 139th class rank out of 802. Really good recommendations from multiple teachers mainly centered in the science department. What are my chances? I’m genuinely super worried because I’ve heard that acceptance rate to the 7 year program is crazy low. This my first choice.

You have heard correctly.

Since you are barely in the top 20% of your high school class there may be a lot of grade inflation there.

I was going for the 7 year program as well, but I decided to just apply RD and just follow a premed track since I believe the acceptance rate to the program is a little less than 2%. If you’re confident, go for it, but just know if you’re denied from the program, you’re denied the from the university as a whole. There isn’t a chance of deferral to the RD pool like with ED.

They are getting rid of the 7 year dental program. I’m not sure if you’re doing dental or medical. But I got an email and called today to confirm.
