Boston University Accelerated PreMed Requirements

Hey guys, so im a junior and I'm really into the Boston University 7 year accelerated program. However, my heart kind of sank today when I read one of the requirements: SAT Subject Test in Chemistry*. See, I took Honors Chemistry in 10th grade and got an A. I didn't think to take the subject test though because I was told they're better to do after the APs of that class. Well, push comes to shove - AP Chem didn't fit into my schedule junior year, and im taking it next year. I could easily take that SAT subject test at the end of next year after AP chem and get really high scores, but can't right now because it's been a whole year since I've taken chem. I took AP Bio this year, took that subject test (get the scores in 3 days, i can update u all) and can do Math 2 in october.

Honestly, what do you think I should do? Should I try to explain what happened with them, or are my chances of admission into the program gone now

This is just terrible

Thanks for all ur help.

I’m looking into the BU 7 Year program as well. And in all honesty, the Chemistry SAT II is a requirement, and no matter what you say, it will probably be required for application/admission. If I were you, I would study Chemistry again over the summer and take the SAT II in October along with Math 2.

Honestly, that’s not designed right. In the end - yes that’s probably what I have to and will do, but they should definitely change that for the future. Hopefully I’ll see you there my friend.

If you can’t restudy for a simple test – and SAT II’s are about as simple as they come – then there’s a problem there.
