Boston (University and location in general)

Hi

I was recently accepted to Boston University's School of Management. I know full well that this isn't a target school, and that my odds are slim of securing a job (or even internships) at the most highly sought after banks.

I am a top student, however, and I do fully intend to graduate with an extremely high GPA regardless of what college I attend. My question is simply: does anybody know what opportunities are available to BU SMG students wanting to enter IB?

Also, how good is Boston (the city) for a financial career? I mean, I know it's not NY but I've heard it has a huge presence from all the big banks and is rapidly becoming a financial hub.

My greatest thanks to anybody with information.

Boston is a great city for asset management companies. Much less so for traditional investment banking.

Interesting, I was not aware of that. I appreciate your response.
