Boston University Campus Tour

After college I want to go to medical school. I have a few questions.

  1. What majors should I take in college?
  2. I want to visit Boston University but I’m not sure which college I should tour.
I see several colleges here. http://www.bu.edu/admissions/visit-us/visit-a-school-or-college/
Which one should I visit? The college of fine arts, the college of arts and science, sargent college, or something else?

Thanks

You can major in anything you like before med school. You just need to take the prereqs; you can look those up. As far as BU, you want CAS.

Thank you Snarlatron.

I would also look into Sargent College if you’re looking for something more specific for the health field.

Sargent is great for health sciences too, just if you end up at BU make sure your advisor knows you are premed so you take the right prereqs. But yeah, you can literally major in anything. Most of the premeds at BU, it seems, are bio majors but I also know some people who are majoring in spanish, history, art history, and english. As long as you meet prereqs, it doesn’t matter. I think CAS is better because if you decide you don’t necessarily want to major in a science/specific health science, you have more options. But that’s just me!

PS- ‘majors’ plural is not necessary (not sure if a typo or not) but just wanted you to know it is better to choose one major and go really in depth then barely skim the surface of two majors. Unless you can go in depth with both majors, I’d say just stick to one, and take a few classes in other interests.
