I expect to have great recommendations and a good college essay.

GPA and ACT are weak, but if you get your ACT to the 28/29 range you definitely have a good chance. I’m not sure about BU’s requirements but SATIIs would def help. You seem well involved in your ECs so get some good recs and good luck!

Stats are below the line, EC’s are average.
I’d say it’s a bit of a reach for you.
(Perhaps you should try the SAT, rather than re-taking the ACT?)

Yeah I took the SAT and got a 1790 (620 M, 610 W, 560 CR) & I think a 26 ACT composite with a 27 combined English/Writing sub score equates to approximately an 1800 on SAT if I remember correctly. Plus I took that first ACT cold (dumb idea) so I am prepping for the second one.

At this point BU is a reach for you. I know people with similar stats who got flat out rejected. I even know someone who got accepted to Yale but not BU… It depends on what major you choose.

I plan on applying to their college of arts & sciences undecided. I know they said their average gpa was an “A-” with an ACT of 29. I can’t do much about my B+ GPA but get straight A’s first semester senior year (2 AP classes, the rest honors) & try to get a better act score (which I think is very likely).

It just sucks that it got a **** ton more competitive in the past two years. I’m sure a good amount of the students who apply just do it for the sake of applying, but what can you do haha
