Did you apply directly to CGS? Or did you apply to a different college and BU admitted you to CGS? I ask because when I attended BU (many years ago- CGS was called the College of Basic Studies back then), kids who were in CGS were there because they weren’t offered direct admission to their preferred major. Meaning, it was a step down from the rest of the school. I was in Sargent College as a physical therapy major, and no one from CGS could apply to transfer in because they didn’t take the necessary prerequisite science classes which were not available to CGS students. Therefore, I do understand what @MYOS1634 is concerned about in regards to your ability to take all of the required science classes. Pre med science classes and general science classes are not the same thing, as kids from CGS who tried to get into the PT program found out.
It was more of, if I didn’t get accepted as my intended school then I’ll go with the second choice. So to answer your question, it was a yes and no.
A CGS alum has stated that BU will not delay students options as a pre-med.
But I understand that you’ve also mentioned that there are certain pre-reqs that I must take to prepare me for Medical school and BU has limited my options.
