Is Boston University Computer Science hard to get into? Has anyone got accepted into the computer science program yet? If so can you comment your stats?
I’m currently a freshman computer science major. It’s not that hard to get into. If it is, just apply undeclared to CAS and change your major to CS. I had a 3.46 high school GPA and a 2100. Really low stats and I still got in.
@orangebanana can you provide feedback on the comp science classes or classes in general? Have they been super hard? Is there grade deflation? Was there a big transition from high school
So should I apply to CAS then change my major to CS? Does applying to CAS make my chances better?
No grade deflation. Big classes. The first intro class is taught in python, and the 2nd intro class which you can get into if you get a 4 or 5 on the AP CS exam, is in java.
Does BU only offer BA degree for CS?
I got in. I have a 2210 Sat score, 33 Act score, 11 AP tests (5 5’s, 3 4’s, 3 3’s), Dual enrollment (Analytical Geometry Calc 3 and 4, Intro to comp sci, intro to psych). Good Luck!!
Yep. You can only get a BA.
How hard are the intro classes? (CS111 And CS112 I think?) I got in to CAS for CS and I had a 3.37 W gpa and 2080 sats but lots of aps so it’s probably not hard to get into

Those are robust score for even BU.
So, How is BU for Computer Science ? If you don’t mind can you give me the list of courses that you have to do in order to complete CS in BU?
@Nomads77 Truthfully, those scores aren’t great compared to others. I’ve been rejected from so many schools and waitlisted to CMU and Washu. My college results are a bit bleak. BU isn’t ranked too highly in CS, but truthfully, I think undergrad doesn’t matter as much as grad school. I got in this year, so I’m not too familiar with the required classes.
@CCLawliet, Everybody is saying BU is bad for its CS program. How about other fields in BU?

@orangebanana Hi, I’m a future CS major at BU. It would be really nice you if you can please give some tips about how to get As in most of the classes or how to standout. Does being known by your professors essential? How are you the internship at BU. Is hard to find a good internship?
