Boston University DREAM SCHOOL HELP

So Boston University is my dream school - I have looked into it and seen it and it is quite an amazing school, with all of the majors that I am interested in (marketing/advertising or communications), high ranks for each school, and the best place in the city of Boston. I would absolutely love to go there so much! - but I have to deal with its high price.

I don't know how much BU is into financial aid, but I am definitely needing some. My EFC is around $25,000 but because of family medical issues that is using money the realistic goal for me is $20,000. Of course, I don't want all of the financial aid to be loans, too. I read that (from CollegeBoard) the average financial aid package was about $35,000 with an average of 91% of need met (plus loans of about $6,000). For me, $35,000 of financial aid would be great.

Stats to help you figure out how much aid I can get:
3.5 GPA (Out of 4.0)
SAT: 1860 (630 Writing, 610 Math, 620 Critical Reading)
US History SAT Subject Test: 650
(Planning on taking ACT and Math SAT Subject Test in October)
2-3 Honors Courses Every Year Throughout High School (AP Class for Senior Year)

SO what (really) is the most financial aid that I can probably get from Boston University? I would love any reasonable chance to go there since it is my dream school. Thanks for all the help!

Look for a different dream school.

Need-based aid at BU is actually greatly tied to how strong your application is. While I think you will probably get in, I would not count on very much aid.

Moreover, their definition of financial need is liable to be much different from the amount calculated by FAFSA or CSS.

I would say there is a strong possibility that BU is not financially feasible for you.

And to be honest, BU isn’t exactly a stellar school. BC, Tufts, Northeastern, etc. are all nearby and offer better programs.
