Boston University Fall 2017 Transfer

@LinkandZelda I received that email! It was a pain emailing all my professors to get those syllabi lol.

When you guys look on the application portal, does it still say a lot of your transcripts, etc, are missing? I’ll probably call them soon considering the deadline is coming up…

@milklore mine remained missing for about a week after they’ve received it (7 day mailing window). Definitely give them a call, they’ve been very helpful for me.

Hey Everyone, Just sent my application today, completely freaking out right now, here are my stats if anyone could tell me my chances:

So I’m a french student at Suffolk University
Applying for sophomore year for the Questrom Business School
Highschool GPA was 3.4
College first semester 3.7
this semester: 4.0

@nimomini You seem like you have a decent chance. How many credit have you had at Suffolk? I know someone who was admitted with stats like yours.

@LinkandZelda
Hey! I have 15 completed credits and on my way to complete 14 more
So there’s been many changes at the end :stuck_out_tongue:
My cumulative high school GPA is of 2.7 (it’s my last year of high school who was 3.4) :frowning:
I decided to apply to CAS in sociology at the end

Hey guys! I’ll actually be applying for Spring '18 but your feedback would be helpful! I’ll be majoring in Journalism and International Relations. I’ll have over 60 units by the time I transfer. BU is my first choice, but I’ll also be applying to NYU, George Washington University, University of British Columbia, Northeastern, and University of Texas–Austin. I’ve also been attending three different schools in order to get the right courses to transfer because I’ve been looking at the transfer course equivalency guide. I’ve taken primarily online classes and hybrid courses so I really really hope they all transfer over.

College GPA: 3.85 (trying to get up to a 3.9)
High School: 2.1 ( I know it’s very low)

Extracurriculars:
Phi Theta Kappa provisional Member
Chinese Language Academy
Arabic Tutoring
Director of Public Relations and Fundraising for Orphanage in Nigeria
Member of the Black Collegians Club
De Anza College Honors Program

Languages I Know:
Russian
Mandarin Chinese
Hebrew

(I’ll be trying to get certificates to show that I do have proficiency in some of these languages)

Please let me know what you think! I’m dying to go to BU! Any suggestions on how to improve my stats would be much appreciated! Also, why do you guys want to go to BU?

Hey, I just sent in my application today! I’ll post my stats below, please feel free to share your opinions on my chances of getting in (no matter how negative). BU is my dream school, so even if I don’t get in for Fall 2017, I’ll keep on trying

@milklore Im guessing its going to be early April. Thats been the usual timeline for the past couple of years.

@milklore @LinkandZelda I asked this morning, the lady said early-mid April is when they begin releasing them. It just depends on when you sent your application in.

Low-key concerned because the applicant link still says my college transcript is missing even though it arrived one month ago. They told me that they received it but may take up to 2 weeks from the application itself… It has been two weeks ._.

Anyways, good luck everyone!!!

@emorylove97 The transcript thing happened to me too! I called yesterday (for the billionth time), and they finally fixed it. Turns out some of my material had been logged in to the system with my last name spelled wrong

Hey guys! How is everyone doing? I just saw this thread. I’m transferring from UMass Lowell.
Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.5 (about 50 credits)
I didn’t apply with my SAT/ACT because they said it was optional shrug
Clubs: eNable, radio station, rugby

I hope I get in, I’ve always wanted to go to a school in Boston :D. Also to anyone applying to the business school as transfers- I know people who got accepted with a 3.0. I think you guys have a very good chance.

Did anyone else get an email from BU admissions today asking additional information for credit transfer? I got an email saying they needed more information to review my transfer credit. I don’t know if that is a good sign or not. It also said “Please refer to the evaluation posted on your Applicant Link.” even though i haven received a decision yet and nothing is new on my applicant link.

@vittinator I am applying to the business school as well. Im transferring from a state school in MA also.

The applicant link says they don’t have my high school or college transcripts, I handed these in already.

@ndgogo try giving them a call on monday. The system does take a while to update. Sometimes they log it with the wrong name in the system. Mine took 2 weeks to update.
