Boston University Fall 2017 Transfer

@Calliefornia20 FA looks for me unpredictable. It depends on the school you applied to, the finance they have for this department, how many students already received and accepted a financial aid. How much money your department has left ? I more and more dislike the transfer process. Not only we have to wait for the acceptance decision, but once that is done, if it is a good news, we still have to wait the FA, something on what depend a lot of us. My S and I were hopping to hear back today, but we will have to wait again. Fortunately, my son’s safety agreed to move the deposit deadline to May 15. But still ! I hope we will hear back soon, with good news ! Sending good vives !

Sending good vibes I mean, especially to those who were among us from the beginning of this thread and who are still waiting their application decision. @LinkandZelda

JUST GOT ACCEPTED THANK JESUS

@sstransfer post your stats!

Sigh I got $36,600 in FA for COM. I’m definitely going to have to appeal because my EFC was only around $6k (which was ridiculous to begin with because I have a single parent who makes less than 1 year of BU’s tuition in a year and I don’t receive any financial support from my father but sigh thats FAFSA for you) and yeah I’m not going to be getting parental financial support. I wish transfers could receive merit scholarships here; at other schools they can :frowning: But BU is still my #1 and I’m probably going to still go even if I have to take out some hefty loans.

@Calliefornia20 Alright stats time I’m not too SURE if this is everything people are looking for but:

College GPA: 3.82
High School GPA: 2.4 (yikes amirite)
Not many ec’s tbh I think I wrote down about 3 from high school???
No, I’m not sure how I was accepted either
Rockin’ essay about how I feel trapped at my current school and I want to do great things also briefly discussed recent tragedies in my life that motivated me to take control of my life and do what I want instead of letting time pass me by
Good supplement essay about growing up in the area and Boston feeling like my home
Good recommendation letter from a college prof
Anything else?? I’m going in as a sophomore and didn’t submit my test scores

I was accepted into the college of arts and sciences this morning at 11!

my financial aid appeal brought in an additional $1000 for a grand total of $6000 aid, looks like I won’t be attending BU, it’s been real ya’ll

@milklore what was your efc is you dont mind me asking

Thinking about requesting an early review, i have deposit deadlines coming up for my current school. How long after requesting early review should i expect to hear back, if at all?

@LinkandZelda some had their response the following day, others had to wait an entire week.

How long after you got your decision did you get your finaid?

i’ve been waiting forever!

Me too! I’m still waiting for a decision. I had all my application materials in since late January/early February. Finally asked for early review. Hopefully I hear back soon.

I just got accepted and was wondering how I find my financial aid award ?

For financial aid, it looks like we have wait for ever too ! Some had to wait 12 or 13 days. My S was accepted the 24th and we are still waiting. Same for other schools he applied to. Soooooo long process !

@lottiepops28 what are your stats and how many credits do you have going into BU?

I just got accepted !!! All my additional documents just completed yesterday n today i got the decision.

@fashaMH congrats! would you mind sharing your stats? still waiting for a decision…
