Did everyone get asked for a mid term report/transfer college report? I applied to Questrom and once they finally processed my transcript (After waiting nearly 3 weeks and calling them twice), they marked my application as complete and then told me I needed to fill out the Mid Term Report. It took me over a week to fill it out because professors weren’t on campus since classes ended and I needed to wait for my finals to ask my professors for their signatures. I finally mailed the form the 10th and I definitely plan on calling them Monday to make sure they process it ASAP.
I just really wish they told me I needed it with my other app materials, unless it wasn’t a requirement
Hey @TheBrady6 . I applied to questrom as well. They requested mid term report from me, and I sent them in about a month ago. It took 2 weeks to process. It was marked off of my applicant link 3 weeks ago and I still haven’t heard. So I’m guessing you’re not alone.
Is anyone here still waiting for a decision and hasn’t been asked to submit his midterm report?
@LinkandZelda That’s what I suspected. My friend also applied and they asked for one. He said it was required but I couldn’t find where it said that on their website. I feel like you should’ve heard back by now because he said he received a week after he submitted everything.
Some had their decisions 2-3 weeks after submitting everything and some after just 2-3 days…
and a lot of people didn’t have to submit their midterm report, they all (probably) got accepted like a month ago, even more
BU, like Northeastern, seems to be admitting the most qualified transfer applicants first.
If they expect us to answer back before June 1, they have to at least give us minimum 2 weeks or 10 days, unless it’s a rejection
“Boston University will continue to review transfer applications for September 2017 admission that are received after the March 1 deadline. Please submit your application as soon as possible through the Common Application.”
This is written on their website.
Why are they still taking applications until now?
Are they possibly in need of more applicants?
My app was completed since mid March and I never got asked for a MidTerm report. Still waiting.
Mmm … I don’t know how they’re managing these decisions but they’ve been accepting people since April 3rd and they accepted people that had to submit their midterm report too… so I’m not getting it … maybe they’re taking the ones they want first and leaving the others for another review at a later time… I don’t know… and I doubt they already sent out rejections… probably keeping them till the end
What school are you all applying to? I’m applying to Questrom. If you guys don’t mind sharing stats please do so. Maybe BU is accepting applicants they really want first and leaving the “maybes” for later. My HS gpa is around 2.3 (Not proud of this) and College GPA is a 3.96 with 60 credits. Midterm report with straight As.
I wonder if they’re accepting the applicants they really want first and then waiting to see how many spots open up before accepting and or denying the rest of us. Maybe they’re waiting to see how many people pay their enrollment deposit? I don’t know what to think. I called earlier this week and the representative said we should hear back within a week or two, although they couldn’t say for sure.
I think If they’re still accepting late application until now then it’s not a matter of spots cz obviously they want more applicants.
International applicant with US citizenship
I’m applying to mechanical engineering, hs overall grade B+ ; college gpa :3.45

good essay I think
(I already saw a guy get accepted with 2.7 hs grades and 3.4 college gpa to the college of engineering, he got accepted on April 3rd )

Finally, Financial Aid notification was there: $18500, included $7500 from loans . It looks like it’s gonna be a big no no ! We cannot afford to pay 32500 per year for 2 years for undergraduate diploma. We are still waiting for Emerson offer. But if it doesn’t work, it will be Suffolk University with an aid of 29000 for a tuition fee of 37000. I’ll let you kow where my son ends up. I hope you’ll have answers soon and I wish you best of luck. It was nice to feel support and to read all different stories, especially the “non traditional” ones. Best of luck once again and stay wise financially speacking.
@catlalib was that need based financial aid? would you mind sharing what your EFC is? i’m curious to have an estimate of how much i’ll be receiving…my efc is pretty low
@koreanincali This is a need based scholarship called Boston University Grant: 13000. The rest are current loans, subsidized and unsubsidized, we had the same with Suffolk and I expect the same from Emerson. We need merit scholarship here and BU gave none. We are not complaining, BU was a reach in the first place so we are still happy with the results. I did not run the EFC so I don’t know what it was. I did not pay attention to the Fafsa either. We are a familly of six with a household revenue of 100000 a year and already a child in sophomore year at Emerson college. There is also a non custodial parent in France with one child and a wife who doesn’t work. His salary is taken into account, in what percentage I don’t know, but he must earn the same as my household. Anyway, they never really respect the EFC. If they want you on their campus, they do what they need to do. And it is not because your profile is bad that they don’t make any efforts, it is just because they already have many students like mine on their campus. They are looking for someone different. That’s why looking for the good fit is important.
Correction, BU gave 5500 as a Stafford Loan based on a Freshman year. My son will stand as junior so he can increase his Stafford to 7500. So BU’s help should be 20500 and not 18500. Still, it’s not enough to be able to attend. Once we’ll have the response from Emerson we’ll decide what to do. Perhaps we will appeal BU’s aid.
Ok so I was admitted during the Apr 3 wave with a significant amt of grant aid…but I just got a C+ in a class (not expected at all, I was hovering around the B+ range for most of the semester, but I think the prof’s parameters for grading were different??) AND I already know that I expect around a C- in one of my elective classes…
Will I get rescinded??? Is there anything I can do to assure BU that I’m ready for their level of work??? (PS I also took 24 creds this spring, which the absolute max per sem)
Sincerely, a v freaked out person who wants to be at BU
So is anyone still waiting for a decision? I don’t think they came out with any decisions last week.
