They just updated my applicant link to send in a mid term report least I know they looked at it
@porcelyn you heard back from emerson??? they’re taking forever for me and i’m having a hard time being patient
@porcelyn Wouha, you received an answer from Emerson already ? Lucky you. This is my son’s top choice. When did you finish your application and in which program have you been accepted ? Congratulations for your acceptance.
@milklore @catlalib Yep, I was super surprised to hear back so quick. I submitted my app on March 14 and it was complete at that point, as I had mailed in extra forms beforehand. I guess I just got lucky! And I got accepted into the Marketing Communications program!
Applicant link is down for me again. Maybe it’s sign that we’ll hear more decisions tomorrow
I applied to Questrom School of Business as a major in management on Feb 27, 2017. I got my response email on Monday at about 11:15 A.M. stating I had been accepted into the university. Unfortunately, I only qualify for the Stafford loans so the cost of attendance is going to be outrageous. In addition, I’m currently a freshman at a community college in Northern-California.

In addition to Boston University, I have applied for transfer to Boston College, Columbia University (4 family alumni), Harvard College (No chance), New York University (1 family alumni), Northeastern University, Stanford University (No chance), and Tufts University. My preference in order is Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, and I don’t know yet. I have only heard back from Boston University.
Congrats to everyone who was accepted and best of luck!!
@porcelyn congratulations for Emerson. If we hear from them next week, with a decent scholarship, my S will say yes. We will visit Suffolk this coming Sunday, just in case. It is his back up. If we could hear from Emerson before, we wouldn’t go to “picture yourself @ Suffolk day”. BU is second on his list. We know BU is more expansive and his chances are lower. Anyway, it still would be great to hear from them. The last document that is missing for Emerson is the non-custodial statement. After that, we will have to hear from Brandeis, and that’s it. The advantages with BU is the larger possibilities to double major. Same thing with Brandeis. Emerson is more concentrated on your field of studies. But I am wondering if it is not possible to have two different bachelors from two different universities, by studying during the summer. I don’t know, we have to ask, make some researches. Good luck for BU.
@porcelyn did you hear scholarship info too? i know they have one merit scholarship for transfers and im hoping i can get that…
I’ve been accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences and still can’t quite believe it’s true. It’s a huge validation of all the work I’ve been doing and I wish everyone hoping to transfer to BU the very best.
Figured I’d post my general stats to encourage others who may be in situations similar to mine:
High school: awful. Graduated 07’, did well in AP courses but overall GPA was below 3.0.
Community college: enrolled Fall 2015 in Philosophy and Religion program, 4.0, 12+ credits per semester, courses full of gen. ed and philosophy, religion, and psychology. Phi Theta Kappa, no extracurriculars, all online classes.
Transfer application: three excellent letters of recommendation; strong, specific essays; all forms in before March 1st deadline; strongly in need of financial aid, so CSS profile and FAFSA submitted. No test scores to report.
The financial aid package BU offered makes attendance definitely doable with a bit of work. It’s also worth noting that I’m living off-campus with my family.
Mainly, I’m struck that BU accepted an older, non-traditional student like me with a dubious high school track record but strong college record, albeit via online courses at a community college. If you’re anything like me, I hope my acceptance proves encouraging!
@BelovedInfidel congrats on your acceptance!
Just wanted to say, you shouldn’t be surprised that they accepted you despite your high school record! As a transfer student, colleges look at your college level course work when making a decision. The high school transcripts are really only meant to be proof that you graduated high school!
The beauty of community college: you get to redeem yourself!
@BelovedInfidel Congratulations for your acceptance. Sometimes, a non traditional student is what catch their attention. It shows that you can become a different person, looking for second chance. I too celebrate community colleges. You did well by applying to BU. Enjoy this victory on yourself and on the society where will and determination are your best companions.
Accepted on 4/3 as a junior transfer to CAS!!
@transferfromgwu did you just get accepted right now?!
Edit: Oh ok lol
@Kenybanana No. He edited his post to say that he was accepted on 4/3.
She* and didn’t want people to think I got in today - forgot to clarify.
Does anyone have any thoughts about when they’ll release decisions again? It seems like it comes in waves.
@LinkandZelda I would say each week, on Monday. So let see after the week end !
Just received my decision at around 10PM EST today(4/6)! ACCEPTED to Questrom
Coming from one of the most prestigious public high schools and top 10 undergrad business school

First Semester College GPA: 3.46
Mid-Term report shows all 4.0’s
I am an organizer and activist in Boston, very active in social justice in the city. Also a musician.
My application had an outstanding document a few days ago but was changed to complete three days ago.
I also did not get an email notification, I simply refreshed my applicant portal and saw the changes. Been refreshing every hour and saw it around 10PM EST
@lpkillz123 congrats!! I’m excited for you! how long did it take for the outstanding document to clear up from your applicant link after you sent it?
