Since there is no thread for BU, I decided to start one hahaha. This thread will serve for prospective transfer applicants who have questions, would like to be chanced, and to cry with each other once we are near April. Have fun and good luck with your applications!
Hello! Im currently a student at Florida International University and want to apply as a transfer for Fall 2019. Are the applications out already? Here are my stats:

Hi! I’ll be applying as a sophomore transfer (44 units though) next fall.
Major: Advertising
Standing: Sophomore
Cumulative GPA: 3.69
I’m in a bit of a weird situation–I went to a CC in Pennsylvania for my first year of college, got straight A’s, and then transferred to Univ Southern Cal as a sophomore in fall 2017. Struggled a lot with the distance from home, one poor living environment after another, and a bunch of major changes, so I have since gone on health leave twice. This time I’m applying to other schools so that hopefully, I have alternative options if I decide not to go back. I had a 2.86 GPA in my first semester at SC, but I have no recorded GPA after that because of repeated leave, so I think my chances of admission are really up in the air and will depend almost entirely on how I articulate these circumstances in my essays.
Best of luck to everyone!

@freethepuffles Did you receive a confirmation email after you submitted your application and/or payment? Or nothing at all?
You can always email to be safe, but some colleges for me took about a month to respond (like William & Mary and Lehigh didn’t send me confirmation until over a month later). If there’s any way for you to check if you already sent in your application (like the checkmark on the Common App), you should be fine. It wouldn’t hurt to email just to check, though.

Not sure about the exams. But I am also looking to transfer into the Business School. Been hearing this is the hardest to get into. I am currently at a Mass State School, with a dual concentration of MIS and Finance, GPA 3.50. What are my chances. I am a VP of the Business Analytics Society and I am a member of a few others.

@90smix I haven’t received ANYTHING at all. I sent an email to admissions asking about my application and they still haven’t responded yet. I love Boston and all, but maybe this is a sign that I’m not going to end up there. :-?

Oof I’m applying to transfer in as a sophomore… a little worried about my stats though. I took concurrent enrollment community college courses all through high school and it affected my overall college GPA.
College current freshman year GPA: 3.57
Overall GPA w/ CE CC courses: 3.38
HS EC: Stugov, Spanish Honors Society (officer), 4 years of various aquatics jobs, musical journalist job
College EC: College radio host, Pre-Veterinary Medical Association, job writing for blog
Would that GPA worry anybody else? It worries me a lot especially seeing everybody else’s- wish I could go back in time to my high school self and tell him to take the CC courses more seriously. Ugh.
@jschell I wouldn’t worry about it too much, they’re going to care more about your recent course work, and particularly courses related to your major. Their admissions process seems a bit ambiguous though because I saw some solid applicants denied last year while other “questionable” applicants were admitted.
Gotcha, we’ll here’s hoping @penntousc! Hopefully the 250 words will convince them lol
BTW- anybody have any idea when they usually let us know if we got in?? I know the deadline isn’t until the 1st
@jschell They send out decisions on a rolling basis. Last year I think some people started to get decisions early April, but most people received decisions around mid-late April.
I submitted my application last Friday, and have gotten promo emails from BU admissions since, but no portal information. Does anyone know when to expect that or how long I should wait until reaching out to them?
