'Boston University Grant' - do they reduce this after freshman year?

My son is considering BU as well as several in-state SUNY schools (Binghamton and Univ. at Buffalo). A significant part of BU’s financial aid package is a ‘Boston University Grant’. The financial aid guide they sent us states that he needs to keep a minimum 2.3 GPA to maintain this grant, but I’m concerned that this money may be reduced if our financial circumstances improve. Does anyone have experience with this grant? My wife only works part-time and is looking to get a better job to help pay for his college education and his younger sister’s, but I’m concerned that BU may just offset our increased household income by reducing this grant after his freshman year.

courtesy bump!

Even if your income goes up, if your expenses go up, they will take this into account.

As far as I know from BU and other students’ experiences, unless your financial circumstances change dramatically, the package really won’t change very much year to year.
