Boston University or New York University (Business Career)

Hello all! I am a senior in NJ and was recently accepted into both NYU and BU. I plan to have a career in business in the future, I was wondering which of these schools would be a better choice for me to go to for undergrad (I will most likely get a MBA or JD after undergrad). I got accepted to Boston University’s Questrom School of Business for Strategy and Innovations and New York University’s CAS for economics (they didn’t see me fit for stern).

This is a tough decision for me because both schools are quite similar in rankings. In my opinion I feel like BU is rising while NYU is staying the same if now dropping a slight bit. I would like everyone’s opinion on which school is better suited for something going into the field of business. Money is not an issue, nor is the location as I live 40 minutes from NYC so I am very familiar with the city and enjoy cities more than suburban areas in general. I personally am okay with either Boston or NYC.

Thank you all for your opinions!

I’d personally take Questrom over NYU CAS. I am gunning for a career in Wall Street so this is what I have heard based on Wall Street Professionals, which may be different if you are aiming for a different business career. Basically, take my advice with a grain of salt.

NYU CAS is nothing compared to Stern. Recruiters sometimes look down upon it that you went to CAS and sometimes rag on the fact that “you couldn’t get into stern”. Questrom is an established business school with a core alumni network and subjects. I am probably going to go to Questrom this year (was rejected from NYU Stern and didnt put CAS as an option). Having a core business school is what really makes the difference to me tbh.

Best of luck!

Spend some time and look at the curriculum for being an econ major at NYU and compare it to the curriculum for being a business major at BU (should be able to find both online) and decide which path looks like a better fit for your interests and aptitudes.
