@bedfordchild I heard that they were trying to raise their rankings, but I’m not completely sure… Last year apparently their yield rate was a lot more then they could accommodate so maybe this year they accepted less students to avoid this problem? Either way it was quite surprising.
Maybe guaranteed transfer is just so that they don’t have the same problem as northeastern and be unable to accommodate students - it’s an issue of space in the freshman class. It could also be an alternative to a waitlist but expresses more interest in having you at the university.
@aliciaross168 still waiting too.
Why haven’t some of us heard back? I got an admissions email a few weeks ago saying to check on the 21st. Are they releasing in batches through out the day?
Hey guys!
Not going to lie, I’m a little disappointed. I applied RD to the College of Arts and Sciences and was wait listed. I have a 4.2 GPA (W) and a 3.9 (UW), along with a 30 on the ACT. I’ve held multiple different leadership positions in my school and around my community, and I’m relatively involved in ECs. I’m sad to be wait listed to my favorite school, but I want to congratulate all who got in! Enjoy it!
I was waitlisted!! RD to CAS under an Econ major. Even though this was a “target” school for me I still expected that I wouldn’t get in so I’m pleasantly surprised I showed a lot of interest in my BU essays and my common app essay was bomb, so maybe that’s it. Crossing my fingers I get off the waitlist!
Waitlisted to CAS with 3.5UW and 2060 SAT. Alright EC’s and Good Essays and Letters. Congrats to those who got in!
Accepted COE. 4.0 32 ACT. Received $13K merit. Does anyone know if BU will try and match or up their offer on $ if you show offers you received from other schools? Good luck to those who haven’t heard, congrats to those that were accepted and not the end of the world for those who didn’t hear what they wanted.
Accepted to CAS w/ Presidential Scholarship
SAT: 1970 C
SAT II: Math 2 - 740, Biology M - 720
ACT: 32 C
GPA - school doesn’t rank
EC - strong in science/math field but decent in others (no leadership roles really)
Essay - It was strong (I think) and showed growth
Congrats to those accepted and good luck to those who still haven’t heard!
I checked my portal this morning to see an acceptance letter! However, I still have not gotten an email to check my portal. I’m in California.
Has anyone gotten an email?
Can someone tell me more about the guaranteed transer I received?
Congrats to everyone who got in, I was accepted as well, but didn’t receive any aid. How generous is BU in terms of grants and aid? Can I schedule an appointment with the financial aid offices and appeal my lack of financial aid?
Accepted! I am very happy but kinda regret that I did not apply to any scholarships for bu… even if I do not get any, oh well…

@reesespuffs You spend 1 year at another college, getting credits for core classes depending on BU environment and then you transfer into your sophmore year. I got it too along with 3 other people! Idk if this is rare or not but im glad we’re somewhat wanted lol
Accepted!
Does anybody have any information on the CAS wait list? Chances of getting in / activity from past years?
so i don’t remember what major i applied to bu as but i got in. does it say somewhere? lol
Accepted CAS, 4.03 W gpa (something like 3.8 unweighted, but our school doesn’t release them officially), top 10%, 2220 SAT (750 CR, 770 W, 700 M), solid ECs, looking back the BU essay I wrote was completely terrible, but common app was ok, NM finalist, one of the first openly gay Eagle Scouts, AP Scholar with Honor and all that jazz. Taking AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Lit, AP Comp Gov, AP Calc: AB, AP Macro, and Advanced Band (1st chair alto sax) this year.
Accepted at American, wait listed at UVA (which really confused me because I’m in state and very much on par for them other than my lowish GPA), still waiting on NYU, Claremont McKenna, Reed, William & Mary, Georgetown, Columbia, Brown, Penn, and Harvard (my parents want an Ivy kid but that’s not happening lol ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ).
Congrats to those accepted, and don’t worry if you didn’t get in; there’s always something for you, you just have to find it.
