As of now the financial aid offer is no where near what I need to attend BU (so far they’ve offered me 27k in grants and loans). I read somewhere that BU changes their initial offer after they receive IDOC and other financial information. Can anyone confirm this?
@cmonpilgrim i dont remmber bu requesting idoc?
@ivyhopefulebound I recall reading somewhere that BU will request IDOC shortly after they have accepted you.
There seems to be a lack of computer science majors acceptances…is it hard to get into CS at BU? I want to get into it but IDK if I’m good enough
@zhangj81119 yo computer science right here & my gpa is terrible (3.34) but I had 8 aps and sat = 2080 so idk probably not that hard? Have u heard anything about the cs program
@zhangj81119 I applied comp sci and got in college of general studies, and after taking the required courses, i can pick any major (inclu. comp sci) so its not impossible. my stats were pretty low too.
@megarr @NickScythe I haven’t received my decision yet either…
@polscimezzo we weren’t offered the guaranteed transfer. I meant the Boston-London January 2016 program. You’d begin at Boston Jan 2016 then spend six weeks in London during the summer. During the fall semester 2015, you can’t attend another college and expect to just transfer in for the spring semester.
Accepted to CAS
3.8 GPA
Taking IB (Well known school)
2090 SAT (680 Reading, 660 Math, 750 Writing)
Strong Essays, but don’t know about recommendations due to waiving FERPA (assumed decent)
Lots of EC’s and well rounded (Sports, service, internships etc)
International - Canadian
No aid whatsoever (didn’t apply for merit…missed the deadline)
Can’t wait to visit and attend BU. From the people in the Facebook group, gonna be an exciting 4 years!!!
Hello everyone! I was accepted to CAS with the Presidential Scholarship and an invitation to the Kilachand Honors College. For one, does anyone know the acceptance rate to Kilachand, or how it compares to other elite schools? I hate to ask annoying questions like this, I just see University name and prestige as having a lot of weight in post-undergraduate life, and I’d love to know how Kilachand would contribute to things like getting into graduate school or getting a job. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

@aliciaross168 Have you received your decision yet? I haven’t and I am quite annoyed now as it is so late!
@NickScythe you should call the admissions office since they’re open now!
@Blade3390 Thanks. I will
@NickScythe I called them during school and just got a decision.
