How rewarding is the experience from this program? Are there any people who have done research and can share their experience?

I hope someone who has attended RISE will post.

My friend is applying to this.

Bump! Thanks guys (:

THANK GOD THIS THREAD IS UP. The rolling admissions scare me - I feel like I am going to apply like February if I can… This is my backup for RSI haha

Applications opened a few days ago… anybody start yet? Anybody from previous years? Can you tell us hopefuls what the research experience was like, what the social atmosphere was like, or how many kids were from the Boston area or out-of-state? What about commuters vs residential students? Stats perhaps? Thanks!

I’m also interested in this program. It doesn’t seemed to be mentioned much by anybody; is this a good or bad thing?

Right? This is my backup for Clark Scholars. It seems like it would be a really rewarding experience but I haven’t seen any threads about it. Also- if I were to do it, I’d be a commuter

Bump! ~~~ (:

Lol Is anyone posting what it would be like according from last few years?

This is my backup for RSI too! It would be really nice if the alumni could talk about their experience a bit!

Son attended 2 summers ago, participated in medical research at the medical campus, and presented 2 abstracts at the end of the program. There were 3 students in their research group. Currently, the 3 are attending Columbia, Brown, and Wash U STL as freshmen. Not bad in my opinion.

Turned my application in last week. I really hope someone can post about there experience.

From what I’ve heard, this program is pretty easy to get into. Especially because it’s restricted to rising seniors.

Accepted today for psych! Anyone else heard anything so far?

@lacrossegirl123 I’m not sure yet because I’m waiting on my results for Jackson Lab’s SSP. Considering I heard their acceptance rate is 4% this year, I’ll most likely be going to RISE!

Also, addressing everyone, one of my friends that is now a senior attended RISE last year (and I never knew, haha). If you have any specific questions, I’d be glad to pass them along!

@bsnewbie How did he write the personal statement? Did he write it like a college essay where you convey your message through an anecdote? Or did he just straight-up answer the question?

Well, I just talked about how I developed an interest in the area through my past experiences, so I suppose that would be an anecdote, and I also wrote how I thought the program would benefit me as an individual. I really just tried to show my passion for my area of study.

@bsnewbie I was wondering if your friend liked it there and if he would recommend it? Also, what did he go for?

@bsnewbie, could you friend tell us a little bit about the program ?
