BU’s supplement this year is" What about being a student at Boston University most excites you?"
Among the courses that BU offers for my particular major, human physiology, I found a course that I am interested in that has to do with maternal health. I volunteered at a hospital for 3 years in the maternity unit so I thought it would appropriate to show my interest beyond just volunteer hours, despite the subject not directly connecting with my major. However, I noticed that this is a class only offered to seniors. Would it be okay to still include this in my supplement? Would connecting my volunteer work with a class at BU be beneficial?
I think it’s a great idea to connect your interests (and experiences) to something BU offers, even though it’s only for seniors. I don’t think it’s necessary to mention that the class is limited to seniors but instead focus on that commonality between you and BU.
Also, I’d explore more than just that one class. Maybe talk about a professor, a club, or event that’s also related to your interests.
Best of luck!
